A Proud Moment I Have To Share....

Yesterday afternoon, after school and swimming lessons, I took my DS to WalMart to get him some new swimming gear and I was walking a few steps in front of Cole. He was following behind, dilly-dallying in his usual way. I glanced behind me to see where he was as he was walking up to a white-haired, beautiful lady, saying, "Excuse me, you dropped this penny." She looked at him and over at me, saying, "I don't think it's mine...", but he just gave it to her and skipped happily over to me. I kinda just shrugged in her direction with a smile, and we kept on going on our merry way. I was thinking, that is sooo Cole. He has a kind heart that way. Within a minute, the lady caught up with us in the store and asked me if she could reward him for what he had done. Of course I said yes. She explained to Cole that her wallet was sitting open in her cart and she wouldn't have known it if he didn't bring the penny back to her. And how she could have lost a lot more... then she handed him a dollar. Wow, you should have seen the grin on his face... it was priceless! And I was just as proud as he was! I thanked her for doing that. I thought that was sooo awesome of her to take the time to teach my son such a priceless lesson like that. I am just so PROUD of him and so grateful for her, that I had to share!

Mr. & Mrs. card

We have a wedding to go to this August and I think the main color theme is red, so I came up with this card yesterday. It's image was in my head and it was what woke me up that morning. I had to create it before I left the house. I know, it's a sickness.... haha.

And the Winner of the Coffee Shop card is...

#18 ~ Congrats, Michelle Dozier! One of my silly twin DDs picked lucky #18. Being that she is 18 years old, I had to tease her that is was like a genentic magnet in her little finger that brought that little piece of paper into her grasp! LOL

I will contact you by email and get this little sucker in the mail tomorrow!
Thanks for playing everyone!!!

Cottage Floral Celebrate

This card was cased, so I can't take any credit for it's design... I like how it turned out, but it's time for a photograpy course! I get a little frustrated when I can't take a picture that really shows my art in a way that it looks IRL. Boy I sound whiny today! Rain, rain, go away... my mood is matching the weather today, I guess. LOL

I used Cottage Floral, With Love (for the stems) and Say It In Style on this card. As well as Black, White Daisy, Cranberry and Baby Pink C/S, and Black, Cranberry, Baby Pink, Olive and Sweet Leaf inks. White Daisy Organdy and Hollyhock ricrac ribbons. Punches galore! Gotta love punches!!

Coffee Shop ~ Grateful for you... giving this one away!

Hey! As some of you may already know, I'm giving this card away to anyone who would be interested in it! I did not stamp a sentiment in it, because it could be used for a friend, wife, Mom, Auntie... and I don't want to limit it's use for it's new owner! LOL

I used Coffee Shop and Say It In Style stamp sets. The whip cream is Liquid Applique heat set with real coffee grounds on it for the chocolate sprinkles!

Anywho, if you are in the least bit interested, just leave a comment here and I'll pick a winner on Sunday night around the same time as I'm posting this. This will be my first time doing a give-away, so hopefully it goes off without any glitches...

Whoops-A-Daisy 5 card set...

Well, let me start by saying that Whoops-A-Daisy isn't my fave paper pack out of the Summer IB, but I like it much better after using it a bit! I actually was kidding around with my BFF about it being called "Whoops-A-Daisy" for a reason (besides the fact that there are daisies on some of the papers in the pack!) It's pretty bright for my tastes... so I made myself go out of my comfort zone and create a little something with it (actually 5 little somethings). I used a bunch of different stamp sets: Cottage Floral, Say It In Style, Life's A Jungle and With Love. Lots of layering and pop-dots. :o)

Blue Ribbon B&T cards...

Here's a couple more I did today using the Blue Ribbon B&T papers. I cut apart a MyAcrylix stamp set (called Summertime) that I didn't like very much because I could never find a good use for it, but it has some cool elements on it. The little baseball and bat are cut from one of the stamps. I used the Happy Birthday sentiment from the May SOTM set called Say It In Style. I cut the stars with my SU punches and used small red sparkles for the centers. Pop-dotted sentiment and double pop-dotted the stars. Pretty basic and easy card.

For my second card, I used the same striped B&T. I stamped the sentiment in White Pigment ink using the Wishes stamp set. The little boy and his sleeping bag was paper pieced with cardstock using the Under the Stars stamp set. I used a circle, a star and a window punch. Pop-dotted under the Indian Corn Blue rectangle, Cranberry rectangle and under the circles w/stars. The details and white dots are done with a Signo White gel pen. I added small red sparkles and silver brads to complete it.

Wishing You Well

I love the bright colors in this card. It's bright enough to cheer someone up if they are'nt feeling well... I was wondering if I'd ever be able to use my Orange, Taffy and Parchment cardstocks up, that are just sitting here in their crate, begging me to be used. They've been feeling really unwanted lately, 'cause my hand passes over them too often, grabbing other colors all around them... Well, cheer up! And quit pouting... I grabbed you and actually like how you all look together! LOL I used Cottage Floral for the flower, cut it out, pinched the petals and dabbed with Stickles for a little sparkle. For the polka dot, I used my Spot On Backgrounds and for the sentiment, a set I just got recently and hadn't played with yet; Say It In Style, the May SOTM. I also used my Cuttlebug for the embossing which I sanded to have the white core show through the Orange C/S. And lastly, Black Bitty Brads and a Ticket Corner Punch (from SU - egads!). I think that's about it!

Scatter Sunshine

I saw a card made by Mary Fish on the SCS website today where she used two different sized oval punches to make petals for a flower. I just happen to have those same punches (I know you're not surprised in the least... LOL) and I made my own version of her flower card. I like how it turned out; might even give it to my son's grade 2 teacher at the end of the school year. :o)

You Make Me Happy (challenge for card class)

Okay, so I'm involved with a monthly card class and we get items as a challenge to create something with for our next class. This time we were given 3 little chipboard hearts. I decided to use just two of them on this card. I inked my hearts with Real Red ink and used Real Red, Chocolate Chip and White Daisy cardstock and Real Red Designer Series paper.

This is my last card for the day, as Cole will be home from school soon... and off to soccer later!

See Ya Later Alligator...

Yes, I know.... I'm addicted! Love this style of cardmaking... at least for now. Then I'll find something else and move on. It's a sickness, I tell ya!

Had to use my fave set again ~ Life's a Jungle. This time I also used Spot On Backgrounds for the polka dot on the Sweet Leaf cardstock. Like the Monkey card, I pop-dotted his head, the large scallop circle and the sentiment.

Life With You (is a Barrel of Monkeys)

I loved the way my last card turned out! So using Faith's style, I created my own today. I used the July SOTM Life's a Jungle for this one, with Chocolate, Olive, Brown Bag and White Daisy C/S. I pop-dotted the monkey's face, all the leaves, the largest scallop circle and the circle with the sentiment on it. I also used Chocolate ribbon, and dotted everything with a black marker and a white gel pen. :o)

(Another) Friend card...

This one is almost a total lift from my 'card-making idol', Faith Hofrichter. I absolutely LOVE her work and I am always in awe of her talent and creativity. This is my version of one of her cards.

Buckaroo

Okay, this will be my 1st submission for week 1 of the National Scrapbooking Month contests going on at the LSS. (My next two are already done; just one more to go...) I'll let you all know if I win anything. They aren't being judged, just my name will go into a draw. Wish me luck!

You're Only Young Once...

I love these little stamps by Inkadinkado. This is the card I made for my friend's birthday, the other one I'll keep for the contest. Hope she likes it and doesn't get offended by the gray-haired lady on the front! LOL She knows I'm just kiddin'.... :o)

Wish...

Made this card today... it's a total lift from a similar one posted on the SCS website. Except I used all CTMH and made it mine! Haha. I used liquid glass on the large pop-dotted flower and that took most of the day to dry, so I just finished the card now. I was thinking I would give this to a friend of mine that is having a birthday soon, but I might have to keep this one for another contest going on at the LSS (there's a different one each week in May). I will have to make another one for her, unless I find one more suitable in my ever-growing stash!

Friend card

This card looks very elegant and pretty. So different from the brightly coloured card I made earlier today. I cut out a pattern from the B&T in the Creative Basics Boom-Di-Ada pack, and layered it with cardstock and a stripe B&T from the Creative Basics Silhouette pack. Very simple, but I like how it looks.

Fun Times...

This fun little card was really fun to make. I love the vibrant colors in it. I had asked Lynette recently about Copic markers and she hadn't carried them in her store before, but after a little bugging (not just by me, but apparently a few people all around the same time) she ordered some in. So far I have 6 colors and 1 blender, and I used all my colors on this card! I cut out each animal and stacked and pop-dotted each of them, as well as pop-dotted the main square they are mounted onto. Lots of dimension that the photo doesn't pick up.

Loving Wishes card

I made this 4x4 card a while ago using Liquid Applique, heated with my embossing tool, then chalked with pink, for the little blossom detail on the flower stamp. It's very pretty IRL (in real life), so I'm hoping the detail will show in the picture. (If you want a larger view, just click on the picture.)

Li'l Cowboy

I've been working on this layout over the past while and finally got it done! I used the new Sarsaparilla papers, and the stamps are Out West for the cowboy boot on the pocket, and Western Flourishes on the Desert Sand cardstock to give it more texture.

It's Your Special Day

Couldn't help myself.... had...to...make...'nother...card......breathe... Okay, I think I can go clean my house now... LOL Addictions are only a problem when they interfere with life, at least that's what Lee tells me... Hmmm... pondering that one......and moving on.

I made this little card using B&Ts from Sarsaparilla, It's a Guy Thing and Blue Ribbon. Stamp sets used are Life's a Jungle and Today's Date ~ both SOTMs from the new Idea Book. Oh, and I used the Booking Set called Wishes for the stars. Couldn't resist putting the little googlie eyes on my litte elephant! He's so cute, I just wanna squish him!

Life's a Jungle

I just got this set yesterday in the mail from another CTMH Consultant and I had to create something.... it's just sooo cute! Life's a Jungle is the SOTM (stamp of the month) that will be available for the month of July only. I'm so happy to have it in my hot little hands before then! So this is what I made with it. I used B&Ts from a bunch of different paper packs, mostly all new ones. (Boom-Di-Ada, Whoops-A-Daisy, Game On, and It's a Guy Thing.)

Birthday card for Lee... (Lee, no peeking...)

I made this card for Lee's birthday coming up on Tuesday. Hope he likes it! I used CTMH B&T papers from It's a Guy Thing and the *new* Game On, and Barn Red, Colonial White and Black cardstocks. The gecko stamp is from Inkadinkado and the date stamp is from Today's Date ~ the August 2008 CTMH Stamp of the Month. I keep teasing Lee about his age, telling him, "Yeah, you're only 38 right now, but next year you're going to be 40!" (Unfortunately, I'm not far behind...)

CTMH Summer Idea Book

Well, here it is! I've had my copy for a while now and just have to share, now that it is May! Isn't it pretty??? You've got to check out the new stuff!

My latest cards...

Here's a couple of my latest cards done with RSing (random stamping). The pink one I made for a contest that will be running this month at the LSS (local scrapbooking store). For the RSing, I used two new stamp sets from the CTMH Summer Idea Book, called Cottage Floral and Spot on Backgrounds ~ love those sets! Wish me luck!

National Scrapbooking Day - May 3rd

Well, National Scrapbooking Day is May 3rd, and I have a workshop planned for the afternoon. These are the projects we will be doing using the new Sarsaparilla line. Yeehaw! :o)

Moments in Time

I created this layout for a workshop my sister is hostessing for me at the end of May... thanks, Deb! I love how it turned out. The pics are from our last trip to Hawaii (2005). We took a sight-seeing helicopter tour around the big island of Hawaii and stopped to lunch and take a dip at a waterfall on the northeastern side of the island. So beautiful there and the water was soooo terribly cold! I have a new respect for people in movies who act like the water is warm under the waterfalls! LOL And yes, that's me in my pink kini-kini...
