Another Whooo Loves You card... this time for a challenge.

I made this 6x6 card for my fellow CTMHer Jen Rubio's 'challenge' to make a card using her Humble Artists Group swappers guidelines to see what we can come up with.

Her guidelines were:

-We will create a 6x6 card.
-Please use at least a little bit of any one of the 5 new My Reflections paper packs in the new Idea Book!
-You must use something you can see through (clear buttons, vellum, transparency, organdy ribbon, liquid glass, etc...).
-You must use some element on the card that is round or curved (you know how popular circles and scallops still are).
-Please use any kind of dimensional element.
-Finally, include at least three different stamped images on your card (the images can be from the same stamp set or different sets).

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Originals - Button Trio (pg. 90)
Magic Moments B&T (Polka dot and reverse side for the leaves)
Tulip, Ind. Corn Blue, Sunflower, Cocoa, and Colonial White C/S
Whooo Loves You stamp set
Life's A Jungle stamp set
Cocoa, Tulip, Olive and Sunflower inks
Black bitty brads
Dimensional Elements heart from Fresh Shapes
Twill Ribbon
Natural Hemp
CC Metal Love Charm
Circle Window Charm
Pop-dots (other)
Fiskars scallop punch (Fiskars)
1 1/4" circle punch (other)
Make-up sponge (other)

I was trying to make the Circle Window Charm with the sentiment into a 'moon' in the night sky, but I dont' think it necessarily comes off that way. Oh, well. ;o)

Butterfly Miracle...

I learned this technique from a fellow CTMH sistah, although I don't know what it's called.

What you do is stamp your butterfly image onto white C/S (I used Black Staz-on), then color it in with markers. Then you take an embossing pen and color over the entire butterfly and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Next you stamp a flourish or whatever you would like over top the butterfly. And then you take the same color ink you stamped the flourish with and sponge a little from the butterfly outwards. (At least that's the way I did it.) I thought it turned out not too bad for my first try. I will see if I can get a brighter colored butterfly next time. :o)

What I used (all CTMH):
Celebrate Life stamp set
Legendary Moments stamp set
Black, White Daisy, Hydrangea and Amethyst C/S
Black Staz-on, Black and Amethyst inks
Autumn Terracotta, Goldrush and Sunflower Yellow markers
Clear Embossing Powder
Craft Heater
Embossing Pen
Black Bitty Brads
Make-up Sponge

*** This is called Emboss Resist Technique and here's the link to the tutorial with much better instructions than the ones I did off the top of my head (LOL): http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2008/08/08/flourish-butterfly-tutorial/

Winter's Magic...

For this monochromatic card, I had leftovers from yesterday's card where I took a new piece of striped B&T from the Creative Basics Evensong Collection and had covered the Cranberry stripes with 1/2" strips of Olive and 1/4" White Daisy C/S.

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Magical Season stamp set
Winter's Magic booking set (waaayyyy retired)
Creative Basics Evensong Collection B&T
New England Ivy, Olive and White Daisy C/S
Black, Olive, Chocolate, Sorbet and Grey Flannel inks
Waterbrush
Olive grosgrain (from Creative Basics Evensong Collection)
Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder
Paper Crimping tool (other)
Mega and Giga Marvy Uchida scallop circle punches
2" Fiskars circle punch
Pop dots (other)

Whooo Loves You card...

This stamp set is really cute, so it was my first stamp purchase from the new CTMH Fall/Winter Idea Book. I'm really enjoying the new colors, too. (Sorbet, Tulip, Creme Brulee and Juniper.) This one came together really quickly, which I like. Sometimes I spend too much time making one card, so it's much appreciated when they're easy. Not that anyone is twisting my arm to do time-expensive cards, it's just where I am at, in the moment, and go with it. LOL

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Whooo Loves You stamp set (available for order Sept. 1st)
White Daisy, Creme Brulee, Juniper and textured Chocolate C/S
Chocolate, Cocoa, Creme Brulee, Juniper and Sorbet inks
Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder
Paper crimping tool (other)
White Daisy ricrac
Black journal pen for the eyes (CM)
Mega and Giga Marvy Uchida scallop circle punches
2" Fiskars circle punch
Pop-dots (other)

Smile (with singing bird) card...

Well, I have to say, I really like the new book format of the Originals. This design is called Tie Back Tag and I altered it to a 8x4 card (instead of 8x3.5). I used the Evensong Creative Basics stripe B&T and just covered the red stripe with 1/2" strips of Olive C/S. Then I took some White Daisy C/S and ran it through my paper crimper and cut 1/4" strips and placed those down the center of the Olive strips. Adds a little extra character with the corrugated look, even though it doesn't show very well in the photo - it looks really cool IRL. The polka dots were done with a 1/2" circle punch.

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Originals - Tie Back Tag design
April Word Puzzle stamp set
Evensong Creative Basics B&T (altered)
White Daisy, Bamboo, New England Ivy, Olive and Sorbet C/S
Olive, New England Ivy and Sorbet inks
Sorbet ricrac
Sorbet brads
Sorbet Token (CC)
Paper crimping tool (other

Merry Christmas card

Oops, I made a boo-boo and didn't realize until I was finished. My card ended up as 4.5 x 5.5 size, but I had intended it to be the regular 4.25 x 5.5... at least it was a happy accident! So with the different size, I ended up doing it as a top fold, which I almost never do.

What I used (all CTMH except companion Coluzzle and circle punch):
Vintage Christmas stamp set
Evensong and Creative Basics Evensong B&Ts
Cranberry and White Daisy C/S
New England Ivy ink
White Daisy bigger brads
Circle Coluzzle (regular and companion)
1/2" circle punch (other)

All I Want for Christmas... card

Well, I got my new Fall/Winter paper samples in yesterday and saw the tree B&T in the Aspen pack and knew I had to make a card with it! I don't (yet) have the new snowman SOTM for November, so I pulled out this cutie with his little bird friends and used him. He turned out pretty cute, I thought. The picture doesn't capture the glitter on the knolls and as usual it looks better IRL. ;o)
What I used (all CTMH):
Snow Friends stamp set
Festive Thoughts stamp set
Aspen B&Ts
Twilight C/S
Watercolor paper
Black Staz-On, Twilight, Outdoor denim and Sorbet inks
Waterbrush
White Embossing Powder
Embossing ink
Craft Heater
Prisma Glitter
Glue Pen

Thank You card (new product alert...)

My first order with some new Fall/Winter CTMH products arrived this afternoon. So of course I had to squeeze some more play-time out of the day! Hmmm... I see there was a black fleck on the bottom that showed up in the pic... it's gone now. And I was soooo impatient waiting for the White Daisy ink to dry and I kept smudging my stamped stitch lines. Oh, well, I had to rush so I could get dinner on the table, KWIM? I think I need to adopt the tag line I've read so many times... "I scrapbook, you expect me to cook, too?" LOL

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Originals Card Confidence Program - Winning Combination (New Format)
Dream Big stamp set

Artfully Asian thank you card...

I am in a card club with my SU friend - we meet about every 5-6 weeks or so - and with my last order, I broke down and bought this retiring set. I've been eyeballing it for the past year. I have some sets I have cut and adhered to their little wooden blocks, but haven't even used yet. My resolution this year is to use all the sets that I buy at least once and to try to buy with a purpose.... quit buying stuff on a whim. The latter is the harder! LOL

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Artfully Asian stamp set (SU)
Annotations (October SOTM) sentiment
Amethyst B&Ts (retired)
Sweet Leaf, Colonial White and Hydrangea C/S

Our Greatest Glory...

My fellow CTMH sistah, Lourae Minor, shared a card today with some great instructions on how to create the background for this card. She made it look so easy that I had to try it out for myself. My thanks to Lourae for inspiring this creation, as I like how it turned out. Even Lee said "it's really nice", which is a step up from his usual comment of "it's alright or it's fine". LOL The tree stamp is an old individual Rubber Stampede stamp that I bought a couple years back, but the rest is CTMH.

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Follow Your Dreams stamp set
Solo B stamp set (circle)
Winter Woods (Rubber Stampede)
White Daisy and Black C/S
Topiary, Black, Honey, Lilac Mist and Star Spangled Blue inks

Pay It Forward ~ what the winners will receive in the mail...

This is what I made from the heart for my 3 Pay It Forward contest winners... I hope they like them!

Pay It Forward Contest Winners...

I had my son (who is turning 8 tomorrow, BTW) pull the winning numbers out of a container this morning. The winning #s are 4, 6 and 2. So congrats to Ana Colon, Jen and Amanda! I will just need your mailing addresses and will get your items in the mail on Tuesday. (Monday is a holiday, so the post office will be closed until then.) Thanks to everyone for playing. ;o)
