Ahoy, Matey! (SCS SC215)

I love the Ahoy, Matey stamp set from SU... it's one of my fave SU sets! This is why I bought the Rockabilly paper pack. The skull and crossbones are just so fitting! I love the glossy parts on all the papers in this pack, too.

I colored the pirate with Prisma Colouring Pencils, using the Gamsol technique, where you colour and shade with pencil crayons, then dip the tip of a nib into Gamsol (odourless paint thinner) and blend the colours together. It's a great technique and one I need to keep working on to get better at. This card is also using the SCS sketch (SCS SC215).

What I used (all SU unless otherwise noted):
Ahoy, Matey SS
Rockabilly DP
Old Olive DP
Real Red CS
White Daisy and Black CS (CTMH)
Black ink (CTMH)
Black marker (CTMH)
Prisma Colouring Pencils
Odourless Paint Thinner (Michaels)
Ranger Pen Nibs (LSS)
Pop dots (other - dollar store)

Riley in Jammies... my new stamp (SC215)

I love Riley stamps! He's just so darn cute! I just got him on Monday and had to play with him and my copics. I used a SCS sketch for these cards(SCS SC215).

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Sleepy Time Riley stamp (Hanna Stamps)
Buttercup, White Daisy, Indian Corn Blue and Watermelon CS
Indian Corn Blue polka dot B&T (retired)
Pink Paisley paper (Time 4 Crafts - dollar store)
Sentiment - Cute Converse (SU)
Circle punches: 3/4", 1" and 1 1/8" (SU/EK Success)
White Daisy Ricrac
White Daisy brads and bigger brads
Pop-dots (other - dollar store)

Love You With a Cherry on Top card

Here's a cute little card I quickly threw together using my new cherries paper from SU called Rockabilly. I'm not really a big fan of the cherries paper. I actually bought the pack because of the skull and crossbones papers in there (weird combination). But I just had to pair this cherry paper with the Studio G Clear Stamps that I bought recently that had cherries in it. I used a card design layout from the retired Originals program, called Window Pane. This design is not in the new Originals book, so I'm really hoping that they will come out with Originals II and Originals III books. Love all the CTMH layout and card design books and use them quite often. Totally worth the investment.

What I used (all SU unless otherwise noted):
Studio G Clear Stamps
Rockabilly DP
Real Red CS
White Daisy and Black CS (CTMH)
Archival black ink (CTMH)
White Daisy Ricrac (CTMH)
Copic markers
Real Red ink
1 1/2" circle punch (EK Success)
Scallop circle punch

@ Hanauma Bay layout

I love the cover layout on our current Idea Book, so I basically lifted it, flipped it and made some changes including a second page. I kept it pretty simple and feel like I have to add more, but I'll leave it as is... maybe. LOL

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Reflections
Emporium B&Ts
Heavenly Blue, Vineyard Berry, Sweet Leaf and Colonial White CS
Brown journaling pen (SU)
Colonial White Ricrac
Pewter Decorative Brad
Pewter Foundry Plate
Corner Rounder
Heart Shaped Dimensional Element from Dazzling Diecuts
Cricut - Base Camp cartridge (Provo Craft)

When I have some time I will re-do my diagram and replace it with the corrected one. ;o)

*** UPDATE: February 24, 2009 - I have now made the corrections and replaced the previous instruction diagram with the new one. ***

Another birthday...

Well, Cole had another birthday party this past weekend. For a gift, I ended up just getting a gift card. It's so hard to buy for people you know well, never mind for people you don't know at all. My son wanted to give his friend a toy that I couldn't find in the store, so...when all else fails, I give gift cards. Cole picked the stamp set he wanted to use and colored in the images himself. I picked cardstock from the colors he chose to color with and simply assembled a card. I made a simple pocket inside to hold the gift card and voila! Easy, peasy!

Valentine for my son...

I totally CASEd this card from a blog, so I really can't take credit for it's design, and I wrote the blog name down somewhere, but can't find it now. So if and when I come across it, I will definitely update this post and add the info so you can see the one that inspired me.

I used my only dragon stamp I have (so far). It's from an old retired SU set called Dreams & Dragons. I love dragons, castles, and pretty much anything magical! Cole seemed to really like it, so that's good. It really gets a little iffy as they grow up! LOL

Ribbon Tubes recycled...

I recycled a few of my CTMH ribbon tubes into Valentines gifts for my close friends. I filled these with Hershey's kisses for two of my friends and for the one who doesn't like chocolate (what??? who does't like chocolate?! LOL ), I filled hers with cinnamon hearts and one white chocolate.

Unforgettable Card Set and Envelope Holder

The other day I saw a set of cards with a matching holder on Jackie Pedro's blog. I wanted to make one... so this is what I created. I ended up smudging the Grateful sentiment on the front. Don't ya just hate it when that happens?

You can find the template on Papertrey Ink's blog HERE.
Hope that helps anyone looking to make one for themselves. :)

Swap Spoiler... so don't peek if you don't want to see it!

This is my next submission for the Humble Artists swap group I belong to. I finished these cards about a week ago. I figured I may as well go ahead and post it now, even though I won't be mailing these out until the end of Feb.

For our guidlines, we had to use an animal image, a background stamp, have at least 5 layers somewhere on the card, embossing, and at least two embellishments. It's hard to see in the pics, but the bird is sparkly. :o)

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Instrinsic Backgrounds Stamp set

I finally added Labels to my Blog!

I took (a lot of) time this morning going through all my old posts and adding Labels to each post. This will make it much easier for all of you to quickly find something you are looking for. I'm such a bogging dork! I didn't know how to do this before, but believe me, I will be doing it with each new post from now on! LOL

My somewhat hidden addiction.... PUNCH cards! LOL

If you have never seen these, then I'm sure you'll fall in love with them as I have. I have been sketching out ideas from ones I've seen on different blogs for awhile now. This one I had to make after seeing it this morning. Adorable! Need I say more?

"CASE" of Love card

I saw a card on Amy Sheffer's blog this morning and I had to CASE it, using my CTMH products. It is 6x6" in size. I would have preferred my flower to be Colonial White, but I was all out of them, so I used the light pink one. After I took the photo, I ended up tinting the ends of the petals by sponging on Tulip ink. I think it looks better now. I also free-hand cut the little heart shape out of Tulip CS. TFL

That's Amore B&T
Soul Mates SS
Chocolate, Tulip, Blush and Colonial White CS
Chocolate, Tulip and Blush inks

Winter Memories layout

I started this LO on Monday at my BFFs. (A group of us always get together to craft every Monday.) I found some time this morning to finish it, and I like how it turned out. I embossed the snowflakes with a mix of embossing powder and prisma glitter, so the glitter is sealed in and won't flake off.

Reflections: Sidebar - Understated and Sidebar - Journaling
Aspen B&T and MyStickease
Outdoor Denim, Twilight, Creme Brulee and Colonial White CS
Outdoor Denim and Twilight inks

Acrylic Album of Cole

I bought this Acrylic Album this past Fall, as it was a new item CTMH was carrying in their Fall/Winter Idea Book. It's been sitting here collecting dust, just waiting for an opportunity to be used. Well, I tell ya, I got inspired yesterday! Jennifer Bennett posted a beautiful album she created using the CTMH Daydream papers. You can check her awesomeness out at http://www.jensscrappypages.blogspot.com/ . Of course her album is a little too girly for my boy, so I simply changed the papers to the Stardust line and VOILA, a cute little album that surprisingly went together really quickly!

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Acrylic Album
Stardust B&Ts
Dimensional Elements Monograms
White Nature's Ambiance and CC rub-ons
White Daisy grosgrain
Clover Meadow, Sunflower and Star Spangled Blue organdy (retired)
