Grade 3... 12x12 pocket layout to hold school papers/art

I've seen quite a few folios done in this manner, but I liked how fellow CTMH Consultant Lisa Bzibziak used eyelets down the side of her True Fit Folios to make them into large pockets to hold special school papers/artwork for her son's LOs, so I incorporated that detail into mine. I used a pre-printed LO from the long retired Graduation Level 1 kit for the front, and added a piece of 4x12 argyle B&T from the kit for the inside/top part that shows. Now I have to say that using the True Fit Folios with Level 1 pages makes for a super easy project and I love how it turned out. And now I'm also regretting selling my Graduation Level 2 paper pack recently... I really do love these papers! Oh, well, life goes on... ;o)

I think I'll do another page to go with this one, including journaling about the highlights of this school year.

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Graduation Level 1 kit (retired)
True Fit Folios
Classmate Alpha stamp set
Chocolate Alphabet Small stamp set
Circle Around stamp set
Argyle Backgrounds stamp set
Black and Grey Wool inks
Black Journal pen
Silver gel pen (Staedtler)
Silver eyelets
DE Simple Numbers
Bamboo brads
Large Circle Coluzzle
Tab punch (SU)

Make a Wish... (Mojo sketch #79 & Cute Card Thursday challenge #53)

Okay, I rolled two challenges into one this week. I used the Mojo Monday #79 sketch and made a card for a family member (my sister has her birthday coming up in April), which is for the Cute Card Thursday challenge #53. You can find these weekly challenges here:

While I was away...

I went away last weekend (Fri-Sun) to a local scrapbooking retreat and I feel like I got a lot done, so I'm pretty happy about that! These retreats are always so much fun! Although I come home tired and needing a little break. Now I can't wait for the Fall one... ;o)

The last pic is just the cover of our class project. It’s a pressboard book and our teacher, my friend, (the owner of our local scrapbooking store who hosted the retreat) designed the inside pages. (The cover was shown on the packaging of the pressboard book.) I thought she did a great job and it turned out really nice. But then she always does great class projects! ;o)

Gee, thanks.... (blush)

Jenn Embry has honoured me with a(nother) blog award, thanks so much Jenn! Since I just recently posted 7 people who inspire me in regards to my last award, I'm going to add three more to my original list...

3. K Aaron Brown
4. Kim Teasdale
5. Linda Albrecht

Arrrrgh Matey! card (AmyRS1 Sketch #53)

Isn't he just the cutest pirate? I just got this set with Billy in it (and another one with Lily) from Pink Cat Studio. Couldn't wait to try him out. I came across a sketch challenge on Amy Rysavy's blog (Prairie Paper & Ink) and thought Billy would be perfect paired with papers from the Rockabilly line from SU! I like how it turned out.

You Make My Heart Flutter (Mojo Monday #78)

I had fun with the Mojo Monday sketch last week and could hardly wait to see what the sketch would be this week. I have to admit, these are rather addicting! So this is what I made with this week's sketch.

A Blog Award!

Hey! Mere awarded me with this blog award! Thanks, Mere! :o)

Now with the honour of being tagged with this award, I'm supposed to tag 7 people that inspire me and list 7 things that I love. So let me start with what I love, and I warn you I'm not really a mushy type of person, so this may be kinda lame...

1. Chocolate, let me add GOOD chocolate, not the cheap Easter bunny type!

2. A really good movie; the type that makes me laugh or cry or leave the theater thinking-about-life kind of movie.

3. Coffee... to start my morning out right, and again, it has to be a good cup of coffee, not the kind my husband tends to make (no offense honey, but please stop making me coffee in the morning... LOL).

4. Sushi is my fave food right now. I'm feeling rather spoiled that we have such an awesome sushi restaurant in town (finally) and we go quite often. Yum... I had it for lunch just yesterday... (((sigh)))

5. My husband and kids; of course I'm realizing this is so important and should be at the top of my list, but I'm not putting these in any particular order, so Lee, please don't be upset that food and coffee were listed before you... LOL ;o)

6. My friends... I have a really good group of supportive, non-judgemental friends, who somehow 'get' me and they still want to hang out with me. LOL

7. Scrapbooking and cardmaking! My creative outlet! I tend to sleep, eat, and breathe ink, paper and adhesive... well not literally... that would just be gross! :D

Now on to the 7 people who creatively inspire me (in alphabetical order)...

1. Bren Yule
2. Hilary Kanwischer
3. K Aaron Brown
4. Kim Teasdale
5. Linda Albrecht
6. Tosha Leyendekker
7. Yvette West

Play @ Beatton Park layout

This is one of my fave layouts that I've made in a while. Last Monday craft day, my BFF gave me 3 sheets of stickers from a kit she got from SU called Hoppy Memories. The kit came with duplicates of the stickers, so she gave me the extras. So I had to pull out my SU stash and play with these turtles and frogs! I soon discovered that I don't have any Old Olive CS, but luckily I had some DP in that colour! I'm usually not a huge fan of stickers and have a hard time using them, but this layout was so fun to make!

What I used (all SU unless otherwise noted):
Layout design - Close To My Heart
Hoppy Memories stickers
Chocolate Chip and Real Red CS
White Daisy CS (CTMH)
Old Olive DP
Chocolate brads and bigger brads (CTMH)
Corner Rounder (CTMH - EK Success)
Scallop edge punch
Large star punch
Small star punch
1/2" and 3/4" circle punches (EK Success)
Cricut - Base Camp cartridge (Provo Craft)
Brown journal pen
Cranberry marker (CTMH)
