It's now available... Scallop Edge A2 Card Box in Topstitch

Yesterday was a very busy day around here, so time definitely got away from me, as I know some of you have been patiently waiting.  But I'm happy to announce that I was able to complete my tutorial/instructions for my newest box, the Scallop Edge A2 Card Box.   It's being added to my list of bonus templates with a purchase of a handmade card.   Details can be found HERE .

I created this Scallop Edge A2 Card Box using the Topstitch B&Ts, and I (also) love how this one turned out.  Really cute!  I think I'm in love Topstitch!  Is that possible?  ;)

A Great NEW Card Box Set! Love this one!!!

I got the idea for this box after seeing boxes made using SUs Big Shot scallop envelope dies.  I liked the look of those smallish square boxes and really wanted to make an A2 sized card box to hold card sets.  So this is what I came up with.  It's super easy to make and I will be doing up a template that may be available possibly later today or tomorrow.  It will be available as a freebie with purchase of a handmade card.

When I have my Scallop Box template and instructions drawn up, I will be adding it to my list of available templates.  You can find the details on my sidebar HERE .  I will also include the dimensions for the cards you see in this set as well.

This set I made is totally CTMH meets SU.  I couldn't help myself with their punches, so I made a necessary purchase.  As some of you may know, I'm a punch addict!  lol  And this paper pack I used isn't bad either...  ;)  This box easily holds 8 cards plus envelopes, and even has room for more.

The CTMH A Little Everything stamp set I used is actually not available until March as a Stamp of the Month.  But it is so versatile and has sentiments for everything from Thanksgiving, Halloween, Christmas, to Canada Day (I'm sure the US version has 4th of July), birthday, and much more.  Love this "must-have" set!

Supplies used:
CTMH Stamps:  A Little Everything, Save the Date, Cholcolate Alphabet Sm, True Friends (January SOTM), Spot on Backgrounds
Paper:  White Daisy CS (CTMH), Real Red & Chocolate Chip CS (SU), Sending Love DP (SU)
Inks:  Real Red & Chocolate Chip (SU)
Punches:  Two-step Bird (SU), Scallop edge (SU), Boho Blossoms (SU), Full Heart (SU), Heart (Martha Stewart), 1/2" circle (EK Success)
Embellishments:  Dark brown ribbon (Walmart); Chocolate bigger brads, White Daisy brad, Chocolate mini brad (all CTMH)
Adhesive:  Tombo Mono Multi (LSS), 3D foam tape (other)

1 Sketch, 2 Sympathy Cards (SCS261)

Using the above sketch from Splitcoast Stampers, I created two sympathy cards.  One is slightly more masculine than the other, but I think either one could easily be given to a man or a woman.

The idea for the clock as the shape of the tree top came from a card I saw made by Melissa Phillips.  I was so inspired to "attempt" to use her idea on my card.

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):

Card #1
Stamp sets:  Grown With Love, Comforting Thoughts (retired)
Papers:  Garden Green, Juniper, Black, White Daisy CS; Grace, CB Veranda B&Ts
Inks:  Black, Garden Green, Juniper
Embellishments:  Black mini brads, Clear button, Black waxy flax
Tools:  Micro-tip scissors, 1/2" circle punch (EK Success), paper piercer
Adhesive:  3D foam tape (other), Tombo Mono Multi (LSS), Scor-Tape (LSS)

Card #2
Stamp sets:  Four Seasons, Make It Count, Connections, Comforting Thoughts (retired)
Papers:  Chocolate, Colonial White CS; Topstitch, CB Veranda, Notebook B&Ts
Inks:  Chocolate, Olive, Crystal Blue
Embellishments:  Chocolate mini brads, Chocolate brad, Olive waxy flax
Tools:  1 3/4" circle punch (EK Success), Grass edge punch (Martha Stewart), Paper piercer, Micro-tip scissors
Adhesive:  3D foam tape (other), Tombo Mono Multi (LSS), Scor-Tape (LSS), Make-up sponge (other)

Flutterby

While in Vancouver, BC, a couple of summers ago, we took Cole to quite a few touristy places; some we'd been to before and some we hadn't.  It was fun!  The pictures I used on this layout were taken at the Vancouver Aquarium.  I'm not sure if they were all moths or if there were any butterflies there, but I had fun taking pictures of them.  One little surprise I found in there was a sloth hanging in a tree... cool.  Cole and Lee buzzed through this atrium area fairly quickly, while I stayed back and took my time... ;)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Papers:  Chocolate, Colonial White CS; Twitterpated, Everyday Celebrations, CB Emporium
Stamps:  Notice the Details
Inks:  Clover Meadow, Brown journal pen (SU)
Embellishments:  White Daisy mini-medleys, Olive corduroy brad, Prisma Glitter
Stickers:  Fancy That and Daydream double-sided adhesive shapes (Doodlebug)
Tools:  Loop edge punch (Martha Stewart), Fancy photo corner punch (EK Success), Circle Coluzzle
Adhesive:  Glue pen, Tombo Mono Multi (LSS)

Rock On Dude!

I'm trying to make some more masculine cards to build up my stash, and this is what I came up with.

I used my scrapbooking hammer (a tool that never gets used anymore) to hammer the silver brads so they aren't so perfectly smooth.  Cool technique.

And it doesn't ever show up well in photos, but I used a mixture of clear embossing powder and prisma glitter on the guitar.  It adds a great oil-spill sheen to the guitar.  Totally rockin'-cool!  ;)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Stamps: You Rock, Dude (retired)
Papers: You Rock B&Ts, Outdoor Denim, Grey Wool, Goldrush CS
Inks: Outdoor Denim, Olive, Versamark
Powders: Clear embossing powder, Prisma Glitter
Embellishments: Silver bigger brads
Tools: Coluzzle, Cuttlebug Diamond Plate embossing folder, Cuttlebug, Micro-tip scissors, Craft Heater, Hammer, Paper piercer
Adhesive: Tombo Mono Multi, 3D foam tape

Rodeo... a layout about/for my Dad

My Dad is starring in this layout.  The photos are really old, black and white, and undated so I don't know when or where there were taken.  My Dad is currently in a care home and has Dementia, so I'm going to have these pages scanned and printed onto 12x12 photo paper and then frame them for him.  I'll keep the original layout as he has a tendency to pull stuff apart to see how things are put together, so photos will be better for him.

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Stamps:  Genuine Country, Out West
Papers:  Sarsaparilla B&Ts; Colonial White, Black, Desert Sand CS
Stickease:  Sarsaparilla
Inks:  Desert Sand, Black journal pen
Ribbon:  Black grosgrain
Punches/tools:  1 1/4" circle punch (EK Success); Cricut Base Camp cartridge (Provo Craft)

***This is my 4th post today, so be sure to scroll down to check it all out.  ;)

Super Quick 3x3 Kids Valentines (a CASE)

Stamps: Thoughtful Seasons, It's a Zoo, Life's a Jungle
Cardstock: Chocolate, Crystal Blue, Topiary, Goldrush, Sorbet, Watermelon, White Daisy
Inks: Chocolate, Crystal Blue, Topiary, Goldrush, Sorbet, Watermelon, Black
Punch: Scallop edge (SU)

Off Road Masculine Card

I so need to stock up on some manly cards. I also just bought the Diamond Plate Cuttlebug embossing folder and a work-friend wanted to see how I would use it on a card, so I made this card using inspiration from a card made quite awhile ago by the talented Jodi Collins.  (Hope this is a good example, Jen!)

I've realized that I really need some more masculine stamp sets. I think Off Road is retired.   ;)

Veranda Card Workshop Door Prize...

Most of you may know by now that I like to give away door prizes at my workshops.  So with my 8 card workshop coming up at the end of the month, I wanted to create a pretty box to hold the cards and envelopes.  This is it... kinda spoils the surprise for the ladies who are coming who regularly check out my blog, but at the same time, maybe it will help to get my last two spots filled!  ;)

Instructions for the flip-top box were found here.

HAS Group Swap Feb. 2010 Sneaky Peek...

So this year the posting rules have changed a little for our HAS Group.  All I can offer for now is a sneak peek at my card I made for the Humble Artists Swap Group I am in, following our February guidelines.  I mailed these off on Thursday afternoon, so they are now on their way to their new homes.  This way, it will be a nice surprise to the recipients.  After I am able to, I will post a complete picture of my card, but I'm warning you that it will be a while, especially since they aren't due until Feb. 10th.  ;)

January Veranda Card Workshop

I was totally motivated to do this workshop after seeing fellow US CTMH Consultant Christine Adam's workshop she's offering.  So thanks to Christine's inspiration, I've put one together to offer to my local gals.

You may notice that one of my cards in the main photo has changed.  I wasn't happy with it, so I re-did that one this morning.  It's card #6 (shown in the back row center).  Now I love it and am so happy I did a re-do.  It still uses the same paper dimensions, I just configured it a little differently.  ;)

So if you are a local gal and would like to come to my class, I still have 5 spots available on January 30th, at 1:30 PM.  Just shoot me an email ASAP.

Alternate Anniversary Card...

Okay, so I was blurfing (again) and came across a card on Catherine Doucette's blog that I just loved.  So I shamelessly lifted it, using my "Sofa" sentiment.  I put the Happy Anniversary sentiment on the inside of the card.  (Sorry about the crooked photography!  But you get the idea.)

Now the first card I made will go into my ever-growing pile, and this one I am going to give to my husband tomorrow.  Can't believe it will be 10 years of marriage.  We met and have been together since the end of January of '95, so that's coming up 15 years.  It just doesn't seem that long!  "Sofa", so good!  lol  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):  Welcome Home, Instrinsic Backgrounds stamp sets; White Daisy, Twilight CS; Kraft, Chocolate Chip CS (SU); Twilight ink; Chocolate Chip ink (SU); Dk. Brown grosgrain (Walmart); Brown button (my button stash from various clothing); Hemp; Double Scallop edge punch (Martha Stewart); Modern Label punch (SU); 3D foam tape (other).

Anniversary Card for my Husband

"Sofa", so good...  lol  Cracks me up!

We have our 10 year wedding anniversary coming up on Wednesday, so I made a card for my hubby. Hope it's not too frilly for him...

When I was planning my card, I hadn't yet picked my B&Ts I was going to use, so I went ahead and printed my sentiments out on White Daisy CS.  Shoulda picked my B&Ts first... woulda picked Colonial White to tone it down a bit and be more matchy-matchy.  Oh, well, live and learn.  ;)

(I was having issues with my printer, so the main sentiment wasn't printing properly... ugh!)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):  Welcome Home stamp set; Felicity, Grace, Veranda B&Ts; White Daisy CS; Chocolate ink; Antiqued Copper mini brads; Punches: Heart to Heart, Lg Oval, Modern Label (SU), Cornice (Martha Stewart); 3D foam tape (other); Computer: Tahoma font.

It's been a while since I've done a card for Mojo Monday.  Love the look of Teresa's sketch and I had some time to play today, so I gave it a shot.

Working on a Birthday Card Swap I'm in... this is the second of about 12 cards I'll be making.  I thought I'd give the pleated look a try, but I think I need some helpful tips on how to make it more even at the bottom.  So if anyone wants to help a gal out, please feel free to email me.  ;)
