My Latest Creation: Large A2 Card Box... (Template coming soon)

Sometimes ya just need a big box...  so I created it!  This one I call a Large A2 Card Box and although it is similar to my A2 Card Box, it has its differences.  Besides the obvious fact that it is sized larger to easily hold 12+ cards (5 1/2 x 4 1/4) and 12+ envelopes, it also has a separate compartment inside to hold the envelopes.  Cool, huh?

This Large A2 Card Box would make a great workshop for those of you offering card classes for multiple cards.  It also would make a great gift box to give an awesome assortment of cards to someone special... maybe as a gift for a Birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day?  I know how much I would cherish a handmade gift!  ;)

I just made this today, and I still have to sit down and create the template.  I'm going to be offering it as a free bonus template with purchase of a handmade card, so I'll post to let you know when it's available.

Happy creating!  :)

Dad You Rock...

I created this card for two reasons... one was for a challenge by Provo Craft, hosted on The Pink Stamper's blog, and two is so my son has a handmade card to give his Daddy-o for Father's Day.

I used my Cricut to cut the guitar (Indie Art cartridge), and Dad (Base Camp cartridge).  I love that guitar!  ;)

I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the foil paper with my Diamond Plate embossing folder.  I really wish CTMH didn't discontinue the foil paper.  It is way thicker than heavy duty tin foil and it holds shapes very well.  I've been kinda hoarding what stash I have left.   ;)    I just really like the masculine feel of it when paired with that embossing folder.  (Does anyone know of any other foil paper line that I don't know about?)

I also did a little stamping with my You Rock stamp set.

Keeping my fingers crossed that Random.org picks my number!  lol

Happy creating!  :)

Wish Upon A Star... H2H8 challenge

It feels soooo good to get my fingers inky again! Sorry I’ve been MIA, but we were away for the long weekend, and then I was just too busy the past couple of days to play.

I LOVE to create my own patterned papers by random stamping, so when I saw that this week's challenge on the Heart2Heart challenge blog for H2H8 was to random stamp your own background, I just HAD to play again this week.  ;)

This fun card uses 6 different stamp sets (listed below).  I pulled out my old pinking shears from my sewing days for the decorative edge on the black cardstock piece.  I also used CTMHs Wishes card book (Top Band) for the card layout.

Why don't you play along?

Happy creating!  :)

(UR) So Sweet Gable Box

Thought I'd post my little gable box I made this past weekend.  It's sitting empty, awaiting to be used one day.  Poor, sad little thing.  One day it will be filled with something sweet for someone special, and then it will have a purpose... and so it waits.

I saw Beate's video tutorial, and it inspired me to make my first gable box.  I've seen many gable boxes before, but for some reason, her video was what I needed to give it a try.  They are super easy and fairly quick to make.  Try one for yourself, that is if you haven't already.  You can find her video tutorial HERE, just scroll down through the instructions and you'll find the video at the bottom of the page.

~~~~~
On a side note, we had some great news in regards to house building...  our first project was to get the water well established.  It was completed yesterday, with Jacob having to dig down only 110 ft. (we were expecting more) and we have approximately 40 gallons of water per minute.  And it's softer water than what the in-town water is, although it's still hard water.  But still awesome!  I'm a happy camper!  I hope the rest of the house building related stuff goes as smoothly.  :)
~~~~~

I'm hoping to find some time to create before heading off for the long weekend.  I'm going to Edmonton to visit my sister.  I haven't seen her since last summer (for a couple of hours only) and probably almost a year before that.  She wants me to help her with scrapbooking, basically pick my brain for the weekend, so it should be fun.  Lee and Cole will bugger off during the day and do some fun stuff, like go to the West Edmonton Mall to the Waterpark and Amusement park...  and goodness knows what else those boys will find to do!  Then we'll meet up during the evenings.

It's about a 7.5 hour drive from here, so that takes up most of 2 days for traveling, so we really only have 2 days to play, and shop of course!  ;)

So if I don't get a chance to post anything before I head out...
Happy creating!  :)

Heart 2 Heart Challenge #7 - A color challenge

I'm really happy with how this one turned out.  I didn't know if I could make something look pretty with the colors in the color challenge this week on the Heart2Heart challenge blog, but it really surprised me how much I like my finished card.  The challenge this week is to use these colors:

What do you think, do you like it?  I'd love to hear from you.  :)

If you get a chance, please play along in the challenges!  I love to see what everyone comes up with.

Glittery Thinking of You

I actually found some time to play for a challenge!  Yay!  Okay, this one's for the "techie challenge" on the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog.

The technique I used (although I don't know the proper name for it) is embossing with glitter.  (Click on the picture for a better view.)  I just hope it shows up in the photo well enough.  It's very sparkly in person.

For the techie part:  I stamped my flower images, then covered the entire piece with Versamark ink.  I used a 50/50 mixture of Clear Detail embossing powder with Prisma Glitter and sprinkled it over the Versamark and heat set it with my craft heater.

Isn't it pretty?  I love how it sparkles.  And you just never know what kind of surprise the colors of ink will turn...  (wink).  Thankfully they stayed fairly true to color with the Twilight ink turning to almost Juniper, but beautiful nonetheless.

Up for grabs this week are some awesome cards made by fellow Consultant Deneen Treble.  Keeping my fingers crossed that my number is picked!

You all should check out the weekly challenges and play along when you can.  They are lots of fun!

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH):
Paper:  Black, Colonial White, Sweet Leaf CS; Miracle B&T
Stamps:  You Are Beautiful, Thoughtful Seasons

Punch:  Corner rounder

Congratulations card...

I made several of these cards yesterday, most of them had a different sentiment, though.  I was playing catch up on some orders and a birthday card swap I'm in.  Whew... only 2 more different cards to make today and I'll be caught up!

I'm still hoping to get to play, too, as I've seen a few techniques I want to try, but I feel like I'm in slo-mo today and am not getting anything accomplished.  lol

Happy creating!  :)

A Posy Card Kit(s) now available!

I’ve created my first card kit for purchase! CTMH recently changed their Policy to allow Consultants to sell kits. Yay! Love that!

The first kit I have created for you is the A Posy Card Kit and you can choose to get it with or without the A Posy stamp set. I LOVE this set! I’ve made many a cute thing with it already, and I thought it would be a perfect set to play with. I know you will love it too!

The A Posy Card Kit has all the pre-cut bits and bobbles for you to create 4 cute cards (2 each of 2 different designs), all the pre-stamped images, 4 envelopes, and instructions.

The A Posy Card Kit with Stamp Set has the same as the above kit except for the pre-stamped images. With this kit you will receive the A Posy Stamp Set and you will get the chance to stamp your own images (I’ve included information on how I stamped my images in the instructions), and with your own A Posy stamp set you will be able to continue to create even more cute stuff! FUN! (Available soon... I will post an announcement when this option is ready.)

The kit instructions will be emailed, and the kits will be mailed to you. So it’s super important that if you don’t receive your emailed instructions within 24 hours after payment, please email me in case there are problems with my being able to email you.

A Posy Card Kit cost is $11.00, plus $2.50 to ship. (Available now.)

A Posy Card Kit with Stamp Set cost is $22.00, plus $4.00 to ship. (This option will be available in approximately 1 week.)

For LOCAL people, please email me (as there's no shipping) and we can arrange for pick up/drop off.

***Please keep in mind that I am offering these in limited quantities.

Emails bouncing back... an important reminder for those of you purchasing a handmade card from me.

Ms. L. Logan, I'm trying to email a tutorial to you, but my email keeps bouncing back to me.  You will need to add my email address to your address book for it to come through.  Email me once you've done so and I'll try emailing it again.  Thanks.  :)

So I'll take this oportunity to make a reminder again that if you buy a handmade card from me and you don't receive an email from me within 24 hours (usually a lot sooner than that), please check your Spam or Junk email folder.  If there is not an email from me sitting there, please add my email address to your address book, as it's extremely likely that I've been emailing you and your computer/internet provider is not letting my emails come through.  Then I ask you to email me to let me know that you've added me to your address book so I know that I can try sending it again.  :)

Congrats!  Please email me with your mailing address.  :)

Okay, so how about a little Blog Candy to celebrate???

Edited:  This post will stay at the top of my page until Monday when I announce the winner.  Please scroll down for newer posts.  :)

I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it...yes, that's the Pointer Sisters' song going through my head!  lol  I still can't believe that I won a Big Shot...  Now I just want to share a little of my luck with you.  So what better way than a little blog candy?

This stamp set is called Flower Pot and it was the CTMH April Stamp of the Month, which is no longer available, now that it is May.   But I have a brand new one up for grabs.  ;)

THE DEETS:

All I ask is for you to leave a comment on what's the best thing you've ever won? Or if you've never won anything, let me know that too. Maybe your luck will change with my blog candy.  Ya just never know!  :)

If I reach over 100 comments, I will add something to the candy, and if it reaches 200, I'll add another thing to the candy pile, and so on.

And for a time-line, how about the end of day on Sunday, May 9th...  Mother's Day, at midnight MST.  I'll announce the winner on Monday, May 10th, sometime in the morning.

~

Oh, and it's Lee's birthday tomorrow, and I still need to make him a card... so I should really get that done, eh???   Yes, I'm from Canada!  lol

Happy creating and good luck!  :)

OMGoodness, I actually won!!!

Okay, so for everyone who thinks they'd never win blog candy or contests of any sorts, this post is for you!  I did the Royal Blog Tour, my first time, and I found out this morning that I won the grand prize....  I won a BIG SHOT!!!  How cool is that???  I'm still in shock, actually.  ;)  And I noticed in my haste to reply to the email I received that I forgot to mention my ever-patient, ever-understanding (of my papercrafting) husband in my little bio.  Oops!

Wow, I was amazed at all the talent the Royal Blog Tour peeps have!  I found a lot of new inspiration and a lot of new blogs I am now following.

Here's the Home Blog for The Royal Blog Tour peeps so you can check it out yourself.

Happy Creating!  :)

Burnishing... a card for the Troops

Many of you know of or have likely come across the path of Janine Tinklenberg (aka Jan Tink).  She has a wicked sense of humour, and I mean wicked in a good sense... lol

Anywho, she posted a tutorial on "burnishing" on her blog (yay, finally!), that I'd been (im)patiently waiting for and I (finally) got to try it out.  Easy, and the end product is pretty... gotta love that!  You can check out her awesomeness HERE.

I mailed this card out yesterday to a lady named Mary who is collecting Cards for Troops, so I intentionally made this card as flat as possible, adding a thin ribbon only.

Someone's wife, girlfriend, sister or mother will recieve this card from a loved one far away... and it honestly warms my heart.  :)

Happy creating!  :)

Stamps:  You Are Beautiful, Happy Birthday
Inks:  Black, Hollyhock, Sorbet, Creme Brulee, Garden Green, Chocolate

A Quick and Fun LIFT...

I saw Julie Davison's card on her blog HERE that she posted over a year ago, and fell in love with the simplicity of it.  So of course I had to give it a try myself.  Here's my three versions of the card design.  FUN and QUICK!

Card 1

I think this first card is my favourite of the three I made.  :)

Card 2

Since CTMH has only ONE punch so far (but hey it's a start right?...  actually when I think about it, they have TWO punches... there's also a corner rounder), I wanted to incorporate the new punch into this card.  I punched out four 1 1/4" circles and glued them onto the back of the flap, then trimmed the excess off with my scissors.

Card 3

I used our corner rounder to create the scallops for this one.
Card 3 took the longest time to create because I paper pieced the apron, and then I stamped, embossed and sprayed colour onto a paper flower and then had to dry it with my craft heater.  I followed Jennifer Bennet's tutorial on how to create the polka-dotted paper flower.  And you can find Jennifer's tutorial HERE.

To create this style of card, you take a 4 1/4 x 10 1/4" piece of cardstock for your base and score it at 5 1/2" and 8 1/4".  Give it a try for yourself!

Happy creating!  :)
