Teacher Gifts... the end of another school year!

Today is the last full day of school here.  Cole will go in the morning tomorrow for assembly and awards and will be home in time for lunch.... then it's summer break!  I'm looking forward to not having to rush in the mornings for awhile.

So these are the gifts he's giving this year.  In the thank you card, I wrote a quick note of thanks for such a great year and had Cole sign it.  I tucked in a gift card to Starbucks, as I see his teacher there after school about once every week, so I know it will get used.

And the Apple gift box I made a while back (you can see my post HERE), I filled with Chocolate Almond Bark.  You can see the instructions to make the sweet treat on Julie Buhler's blog HERE.  (I used 5 Dairy Milk bars for each gift.)

There is also a Teacher's Assistant in his class that he wanted to give a gift to, who I believe is there to support kids with learning disabilities.  So he's giving her a bag of Chocolate Almond Bark, too.

Cole is going to give them their gifts this morning before it gets too warm that the chocolate starts to melt!  Hopefully they enjoy them...  ;)    I can't believe he's headed for grade 5 next year... when did he get so big?

Happy creating!

Friendship 6x6 Accordion Album

How fun are mini albums??!!  This little puppy didn't take very long to put together, although I didn't keep track of how long it took...

I used fellow CTMH Consultant Tresa Black's idea of creating pockets for pull out tags, so I could easily incoporate room for more photos, since this is just a 6x6 sized album.  So photos can be placed on the front and back of the pull out tags.  Now, I went with a completely different type of mini album and decided not to do what she did, but more so because it is just so fun to be creative!

Tresa has a great video tutorial showing different techniques she used on her mini album, and she's running a contest... so check the contest details out HERE.

Tresa broke down her video tutorials into parts for how to create her album, and you can view her album and tutorials here:

There was a paper sale going on at the LSS this week and I picked up this Bo Bunny line I used on this album... it was obviously popular, because there was only a few sheets left from the Flower Child line.  Not quite enough to do an album, so I picked up some papers from some other lines to go with it.  It's all good...  ;)  I am really trying to buy with purpose lately, so when I saw these papers, I wanted to use them on this mini album.  And tada!  Just needs photos...

I used lots of brads and mini sparkles throughout the album, but you might have to click on the photos to get a better look at the details...

Hope I've inspired you to create something today!

Happy creating!  :)

Amethyst Sweet Flowers...

There is something so beautiful about the color lavender....

I've finally figured out how to photograph purples!  Well actually, how to adjust the colors in Photobucket to get the color to show more true.  My purples always photograph blue, so this makes me happy!  :)    But I see that it also adjusted my Garden Green, making it more brighter, when it should be a more subdued color.... oh, well!  It's still a pretty card...  ;)

Happy creating!  :)

Asian Tea Holder... (H2H12)

It's a color challenge for this week over at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog.

Those 3 colors together scream an Asian feel to me, so that's what I went with.  I found the cute idea of the tea holder on Marika Lemay's blog HERE.  I loved her project and I adjusted it here and there to what I wanted to create, using hers as an inspiration springboard.

For mine, I used a 7" x 8 1/2" piece of Tulip cardstock, scored at 4" and 4 1/2" along the 8 1/2" length.  And I did lots of random stamping.

Hope I inspired you to create one for a tea lover you know!

Simple & Quick Soccer Coach Gifts....

Well Soccer is over now... Cole's team took Bronze.  We are so proud of him and his teammates!

I picked up a couple of coaching whistles earlier this week for coach gifts, and after my Garage Sale on Friday night I had to sit down and make something quick to put them into.  So this is what I came up with.  Just too tired after a long and busy week to do anything more than these....  but the Coach and Assistant Coach seemed to like them nonetheless.  :)

I simply attached the cards to the front of the bags and I didn't even have to worry about decorating the bag fronts... talk about lazy, huh?  lol

The stamped soccer images are pop-dotted to add some dimension.   Simple, quick & easy.  By the time I finished them, I went into my son's room to get him to sign the cards, but he was fast asleep.

Here's a picture of him in action in their last game yesterday.

Happy Father's Day card... (H2H11)

I still had my scraps out from making my Banff layout yesterday, and my previous post of my masculine birthday card.  Which turned out to be perfect to use for this card, since the new Heart 2 Heart challenge #11 is to create a card or project for Father's Day using scraps.

I pulled out my Treetops stampset, which hasn't really been inked up yet... until now.  My card is pretty simple, as that seems to be more my style lately.

I added the little pop of color on the heart and pop-dotted it for some dimension.  And I used some scraps of thin cork, trimmed with my pinking shears to make the "grass".

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Colonial White, Cocoa CS; Passages B&T
Stamps:  Treetops, Grown With Love, Say It In Style, A Little Everything

How fun is this???

I won some blog candy on Amy's The Idea Room blog, and it was from Build-A-Sign.  I could pick a road sign and what I wanted on it... how fun!  I've wanted a personalized road sign for awhile, believe it or not, and was really excited to have won!

We are going to be starting the foundation on our new home on June 21st (next Monday), and this sign will find a home at the entrance of our new driveway.  I love that it's reflective, too, since it gets dark so early in the winter months!

They offer a lot of different types of signs (think of a nameplate for your child's room... lots of possiblities) at great pricing and are currently offering 10% off for 2 weeks only with a discount code.  They created my sign same day as I ordered and had it shipped by the next day.

You should go check them out, and if you order something... tell them I sent ya!  :)

Beautiful Banff... (H2H10)

It was soooo time to get my scrappy on!  I've been itching to create a layout for a while now and the challenge this week over at Heart2Heart Challenge Blog was to do just that.

I have been really trying to allow the photos be the focal point of my layouts.  I find I struggle with that sometimes.  So the simpler, the better...  well for me, at least.

Hope I've inspired some of you to play!

April Humble Artists Swap cards...

It seems like eons ago that I made these cards... I would have made them around the end of February, or maybe the beginning of March.   I found this round of cards one of the hardest to do using our guidelines that month.

These were our guidelines for April:
-Use at least one alphabet stamp set
-Have at least three stamped images (can be featured or background)
-Use at least one colour cardstock, from each of 3 different colour palettes...ie Basics; Spring Harmony; Spring Blossom; Summer Carnival; Summer Celebration; Autumn Harvest; Autumn Garden; Winter Classic; or Winter Cozy (you may use only one from either of the two Basics, to count towards your 3!!! Is this clear?)
-Use embossing wet or dry (you may use cuttlebug; sizzix; nestabilities or other means for dry embossing)
-There must be at least 7 layers (this means in one spot, I should be able to count 7 layers....make sense?)
-There must be at least 3 different embellishments (can be ribbon; waxy flax; buttons; brads; flowers.......)
-Use only paper featured in the Spring catalogue
-Card must be no smaller than 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
-Use only CTMH products

I'm going to attempt to remember all the products used, but I'll likely forget something.  LOL

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH uless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Cranberry, Cocoa CS; Veranda, Unforgettable B&Ts

Get Well...

Wow, life gets busy in spurts, doesn't it?  I found some time to post this card before heading off for work today.  I've mostly been busy with making cards that people have purchased and getting them in the mail once they're ready to go.  (Thanks again to all of you!)
I'm all caught up now, except I need to finish "drawing up" my newest sketch I used in the above card, so I can email it out to those receiving cards from me using this sketch.  I'm hoping I can get it done and emailed out before I head out for work.  ;)

I really like this sketch!  I love the scallop detail at the bottom, too.  So pretty.

I hope to find time to do some creating for myself soon, and I'll attempt to get caught up on some other posting I've been wanting to do to share with you.

Happy creating!  :)

Large A2 Card Box template is now available...

Here's another sampling of my newest template, Vicki's Large A2 Card Box.  It easily holds 12+ cards and 12+ envelopes in a seperate compartment inside.  You can get my free bonus template with purchase of a handmade card today!  (You'll find it on my sidebar.)

I used Melon Mambo DP by SU to decorate my card box.  And I made that funky flower to match!  You can find the link for the flower tutorial on Wendy Smedley's blog HERE.  It just adds the perfect 3D detail!  I made the leaves by taking a piece of White Daisy CS, folding it in half, then running it through my paper crimper.  Then I just cut them out with my scissors free-hand.

Happy creating!  :)
