Paper Trail Blog Hop for January... Wonderland

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Welcome to the Paper Trail Blog Hop for January!

You should have arrived from Mary Crosby's blog, but this is a circular hop, so it doesn't really matter where you begin the journey.  ;)

This month we are showcasing the Wonderland Level 2 paper pack.

So this is what I created for the hop.

I LOVE this layout and I have the perfect photos in mind to use on it.

They are of Cole when he was around 2 1/2 years old, playing outside of our old house in the snow.

But, back then I only had a film-style camera and I now have to locate the film strips to get my photos developed.

My how the times have changed...  lol

Once again, I've used a fabulous sketch from the Let's Scrap Sketch website.

Please continue along the Paper Trail Blog Hop by hopping over to Terri Howard's blog.

I hope you had a fantastic 2011, and I wish you all the best in 2012!

Edited to add:  I've had a couple of questions on the white cardstock strip that looks like drips and how I made those.  It's a Martha Stewart border punch called Drippy Goo (Halloween themed).  I don't have her Icicle punch, so I used this one instead.

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Wonderland B&Ts; Grey Wool, Twilight, Black, White Daisy CS
Stamp:  Trinity Alphabet
Ink:  Black
Embellishments:  Black Stitched grosgrain - retired, Silver Glitz Glitter Glue, Amethyst waxy flax - retired, Silver Shimmer brads, DE Chipboard Banners, Purple Sparkles

Inspired By Challenge #4... 3x3 Thank You cards

Laurel has a new challenge up on her Inspired By Challenge Blog...

These little 3x3 thank you cards came together really pretty quickly.

I love the classic look of the colour combination of grey, black and yellow.

This is the inspiration photo...

The background stamp I used on my cards is from a past Stamp of the Month from August called Wicked.  Love the honeycomb look of it!

And the flower is from a new set available now until the end of January, called Rock The Block.

You can get the Rock the Block set right now for just $15 with a minimum $25 purchase from the Fall/Winter 2011 Idea Book.

I know exactly what I'm going to use the Collage Blocks for.
I'll be sure to share them when I get them done.

Happy creating!  :)

Paper:  Grey Wool, Colonial White CS
Stamps:  Rock the Block, Wicked, Thank You
Inks:  Grey Wool, Black, Creme Brulee

I don't have any new artwork to share with you, but I realized that I hadn't yet re-posted my Roxie layout since I added the photos, so here it is...

The photos on my layout are of my most loved past-times of late...

my Blackberry, papercrafting, my blog, and last, but not least, my coffee!

I wish everyone a safe and happy Christmas!  :)

I finally found the time to create this on my free crop day this past Sunday.

You should take some time to look around Lori's blog while there.  She has lots of inspiration to look at.  ;)

The fry box was cut using the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.

Alyssa's Card

Cole wanted to make a card for his friend, Alyssa.

He's been sick for a while, pretty much since school has been out for Christmas break, so he mostly just picked and chose what he wanted to use and I did all the stamping and assembly.

I was inspired by this card by Leisa Hubley.
Hopefully you can view it... her version is adorable.

A Fanfare Birthday Layout

Today I hosted a free crop at my house for my friends/customers.

It's such a busy time of year, that everyone ended up having to leave early and the last person left by 5:30 PM.

I don't tend to get a lot done on these crop days, as I'm busy making coffee, chitty-chatting, and doing general hosting duties...

But I did get this layout done, excluding photos (and a card set that I will share another day).

Inspiration for the layout design came from one on Jeanette Lynton's blog.

Take time to play during this busy time of year.

It's important for the creative soul...

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Fanfare B&Ts; White Daisy, Cranberry, Sky, Pacifica CS
Embellishments:  Fanfare MyStickease

Inspired Christmas card

I came across this photo of an inspired card I created back in September or October that I hadn't shared yet.

I love the simplicity of it.

Mulberry Paper Christmas Cards... use it up!

I've been slowly going through my boxes of scrapbooking supplies since we moved and more so since I've gotten shelving from Ikea, and I am getting closer to the end of my boxes.
Will it ever end?  I'm such a hoarder... hehe

It just makes me wonder, how on earth did I ever fit all of that into a 9' x 11' room???

Anyways, I've been purging stuff into a "stuff to sell" corner of my room, and yes even some into a garbage box (yes, I said box... because it won't all fit into my little trash cans...), and I came across an unused pad of Mulberry paper I bought a long time ago.

The papers are only about 5 3/8" x maybe 6 5/8".

So of course I had to stop everything I was doing/sorting/cleaning/putting away and play...

I decided it was time to use some of it up... and this is what I made...

Each of the papers are embossed, glittered, or painted in some manner.

Beautiful.

Which is why I opted for a simple design.

Use up some of your stash... it feels good!

Now I just need to focus on getting these puppies out in the mail!!!!  ;)

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Paper Palette Collage Pad (Provo Craft); Black, Colonial White CS
Stamps:  I Believe - retired, A Holiday
Inks:  Black, Versamark
Embellishment:  Black grosgrain
Other:  Micro-tip scissors, Clear Detail embossing powder

Mojo Monday #218... A Christmas Card

It's been a while since I played along with the Mojo Monday sketch, so it felt good to play again.

If you look closely, you can see the bitty sparkles on the snowflakes...

And here's the Mojo Monday #218 sketch:

Can you tell I still had out my supplies from my last card???  lol

Love the colour combo of Twilight, Juniper and Sweet Leaf!  So pretty.

The Santa image is from a retired set called I Believe, and the sentiment is from Peace On Earth, also retired.

~~~~~~~
I had so much fun playing with this sketch that I decided to use another stamp image from the I Believe set and created another card...  this time I turned the sketch on its side.
I first stamped and embossed the images on Colonial White cardstock, then sponged Sky and Twilight inks onto the rectangular piece.
I added a touch of sparkle with Silver Glitz Glitter Glue and the dots are done with Ranger Opal Liquid Pearls.
Teacher Gifts... Hot Chocolate Fry Boxes
I got the idea for this project after seeing this one by Mandy Leahy.
Cole has two teachers this year, so I wanted something that would be pretty easy to make and not too heavy on the pocketbook.
Aren't they cute?
They easily hold 3 packages of hot chocolate.
The stamped images are from A Sip and the little stamped snowflakes are from the Wonderland WOTG set.
I used up some of my SU paper (retired), cardstock, inks and ribbons.
The fry box is a shape from the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, set at 10" for the cutting size.
For each box, I cut the shape out in cardstock and patterned paper, gluing the two pieces together for more strength.
The circles were cut at 2 3/4", and the spikey circles at 3 1/4", also using the same cartridge.
The snowflakes were cut using punches.
Happy creating!  :)
Supplies used:
Paper:  DSP Holiday Thyme - retired (SU); Cranberry Crisp and Chocolate Chip CS (SU), Colonial White CS (CTMH)
Stamps:  A Sip (CTMH), Wonderland WOTG set (CTMH)
Inks:  Cranberry Crisp and Chocolate Chip (SU)
Embellishments:  Cranberry Crisp and Chocolate Chip ribbons (SU), Colonial White buttons (CTMH), Natural Hemp (CTMH), Mocha Opaques (CTMH)
Other:  Mega Snowflake punch (Marvy Uchida), Snowflake punch (Martha Stewart), 3D foam tape, ScorTape (ScorPal)
* Cranberry Crisp may be a retired color (SU), I'm just not sure.
