Claire 3x3 Floral Thank You Card... and girls' trip notes

Here is a little 3x3 thank you card I created back in January, when I had a creative week and I had created a bunch of items with all of the new Spring/Summer papers.  Some of which will have to wait to be shared in the upcoming months for the Paper Trail Blog Hops, but this one I can share with you now.

I love how it turned out.

I stamped the Whisper (light grey) cardstock piece with a stamp from Distressed Backgrounds inked in Whisper ink.

The flower from Card Word Puzzle was simply stamped onto one of the patterned papers and trimmed out with my scissors, but I added the white dots in the center of the flower with a White Chalk marker.

The leaves I simply hand cut from Sweet Leaf cardstock and ran them through my trusty old paper crimper.

The Colonial White square cardstock piece and the flower were pop-dotted with 3D foam tape.

Really very easy, yet very appealing to my eye.

On another note...

Well, I had tons-o-fun on my girls' trip to Edmonton to celebrate one of my friend's 40th birthday.

It was fabulous and really the only "complaints" I had from the trip was that Richie Sambora backed out of the last leg of the Bon Jovi concert tour, so that was a little disappointing.  And the darned weather report changed.  All my lighter clothes I packed just didn't cut it in all the snow.  But we all had packed like that and then we just had to make do.  lol
Other than that, it was awesome and a much needed break from our normal lives.

Some of the things we packed into our trip other than the tons of shopping we did:
  • We splurged and rented a stretch limo to take us to and from the Bon Jovi concert.
  • The next night we went to the Comic Strip (Bourbon Street, West Edmonton Mall) to watch a comedian who had a show that night.
  • Then after the comedian we went next door to The Red Piano - Dueling Piano Bar & Bistro to watch and be thoroughly entertained by the dueling pianos.  We closed the place down.  If you were there, we were the fun group or the group having the most fun, depending on how you viewed us...  but then again there weren't all that many people there.  ;)
  • The next night we treated ourselves to a proper evening out, got all gussied up and took a taxi downtown to Ruth's Chris for dinner.  Boy did we dine!  It was so enjoyable.  We didn't want to leave.  We stayed long and late and talked and then had coffee and dessert.  Loved our waiter.  When we asked if he needed us to leave to open the spot for others, he told us the table was ours for the night.  I actually think it wasn't overly busy that night.
On the 7 hour drive back home, we started discussing our next girls' trip.  :)

That's it for me today.

Happy creating!  :)
