Teacher Thank You... Doodle Art

It's that time of year again!

The school year for the elementary kids in this district is wrapping up next week on Thursday.

This year Cole has 2 teachers because they are job sharing, at least I think that is why.

So I made 2 cards (pretty much identical) for him to give to them on the last day.

This is what the inside of the card looks like.

I stamped the words in a retired colour called Clover Meadow, because I want Cole's signature to stand out amongst all the words, with either black or blue pen ink.

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Grade School 8x8 Stack (DCWV); White Daisy, Cranberry, Clover Meadow - retired
Stamps:  Doodle Art - retired, Thank You
Inks:  Black, Clover Meadow - retired
Embellishments:  Cranberry button, Black opaque
Other:  Binder Edge punch (EK), 3D foam tape, Micro-tip scissors

Teacher Gifts... Hot Chocolate Fry Boxes

I got the idea for this project after seeing this one by Mandy Leahy.

Cole has two teachers this year, so I wanted something that would be pretty easy to make and not too heavy on the pocketbook.

Aren't they cute?

They easily hold 3 packages of hot chocolate.

The stamped images are from A Sip and the little stamped snowflakes are from the Wonderland WOTG set.

I used up some of my SU paper (retired), cardstock, inks and ribbons.

The fry box is a shape from the CTMH Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, set at 10" for the cutting size.

For each box, I cut the shape out in cardstock and patterned paper, gluing the two pieces together for more strength.

The circles were cut at 2 3/4", and the spikey circles at 3 1/4", also using the same cartridge.

The snowflakes were cut using punches.

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used:
Paper:  DSP Holiday Thyme - retired (SU); Cranberry Crisp and Chocolate Chip CS (SU), Colonial White CS (CTMH)
Stamps:  A Sip (CTMH), Wonderland WOTG set (CTMH)
Inks:  Cranberry Crisp and Chocolate Chip (SU)
Embellishments:  Cranberry Crisp and Chocolate Chip ribbons (SU), Colonial White buttons (CTMH), Natural Hemp (CTMH), Mocha Opaques (CTMH)
Other:  Mega Snowflake punch (Marvy Uchida), Snowflake punch (Martha Stewart), 3D foam tape, ScorTape (ScorPal)

* Cranberry Crisp may be a retired color (SU), I'm just not sure.

8th non-winning MIFYH contest entry

Now we're on to my non-winning 3D items I made for the Make It From Your Heart contest...

Here's a back-to-school teacher gift made from a brown paper lunch bag.

I entered this project into the "November SOTM - Cherish the Day featuring Typeset Level 2 paper pack" category.

{please click on the photo for a better look...}

I've seen many a lunch bag transformed into pockets, and had to make one myself.  ;)

I random stamped almost every stamp (of the larger ones) in the set, including quite a few of the numbers, onto the Juniper B&T.

Since this project didn't win, I have already attacked the chocolate bar.  No point in it going to waste, KWIM?.  I was planning on having Cole give it to his teacher, but for some reason this year he has two teachers.  So I certainly can't give this to just one of them, that wouldn't be fair.  So as far as I'm concerned, the chocolate was fair game!  lol

The ruler was a 12" wooden ruler that I found at Staples, and I had Lee cut it down for me.

Please come back tomorrow for another non-winning 3D item!

Teacher Gifts... the end of another school year!

Today is the last full day of school here.  Cole will go in the morning tomorrow for assembly and awards and will be home in time for lunch.... then it's summer break!  I'm looking forward to not having to rush in the mornings for awhile.

So these are the gifts he's giving this year.  In the thank you card, I wrote a quick note of thanks for such a great year and had Cole sign it.  I tucked in a gift card to Starbucks, as I see his teacher there after school about once every week, so I know it will get used.

And the Apple gift box I made a while back (you can see my post HERE), I filled with Chocolate Almond Bark.  You can see the instructions to make the sweet treat on Julie Buhler's blog HERE.  (I used 5 Dairy Milk bars for each gift.)

There is also a Teacher's Assistant in his class that he wanted to give a gift to, who I believe is there to support kids with learning disabilities.  So he's giving her a bag of Chocolate Almond Bark, too.

Cole is going to give them their gifts this morning before it gets too warm that the chocolate starts to melt!  Hopefully they enjoy them...  ;)    I can't believe he's headed for grade 5 next year... when did he get so big?

Happy creating!

Teacher Thank You Gift Box (Stamping Royalty Challenge #5)

I made this teacher thank you gift box for the Stamping Royalty Challenge #5. I was inspired by one I saw on Amy Sheffer's blog. You can see her totally cute project and her box instructions HERE. I had picked up the same apple chipboard book (that Amy used) from Michael's in their $1.50 bins a couple of weeks ago, not having a project in mind at the time, but pretty happy to have bought them all the same.

I'm not yet sure what I will put in it for a year-end gift for my son's teacher, but I still have some time to figure that out...  lol

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Notebook and Jingle B&T; Colonial White, Chocolate and Topiary CS
Stamps:  Thank You, Classmate Alphabet
Inks:  Black, Chocolate inks; Black journal pen (SU)
Chipboard:  't' from DE Monograms; Apple book (Studio 18 - Michael's)
Embellishments:  Cranberry bigger brad
Tools:  Micro-tip scissors; Piercing tool; Make-up sponge (other), Scor-Pal (LSS)

Teacher Gift for Christmas

My son has a male teacher this year.  What do you get a guy that you have no idea what his likes/interests are???  I decided to get him a gift card to Blockbuster Video, packaging it up in this stocking, and adding a pack of buttery microwave popcorn.  Hopefully he'll like it.  ;)

To find the stocking template for gift cards, you can find it HERE.
