Heart Happy Double Scraplings Boxed Card Set

Gosh, I haven't made double scrapling cards for so long.

I coined the name of this size of card after simply doubling the width of a scrapling card.  :)

These are perfectly sized for a Valentine.

The cards themselves measure 2 1/2" wide by 4 1/4" tall.

(I used to have a template for sale for the box, but I lost all of my templates quite a few years ago when I dropped my laptop, and discovered that the back-up zip drive wasn't saving each of my drives, including 1 1/2 years of photos.  Ugh.  Sniff, sniff...)

For my box and cards, I used papers from the CTMH Heart Happy paper pack, along with the matching Heart Happy stamp set.  These items are available through to the end of February, but they are while supplies last, so get yours before they are gone!

As most of you already know, I am going to be resigning as a Close To My Heart Independent Consultant just after the end of the month.

So if you wish to support me with a last purchase through my website, I would be very grateful.

Even though I am moving on to do something else that is seriously fabulous, I will still be playing with my paper and stamps, as papercrafting runs deep in my soul.  So be sure to keep checking back for future posts.

If you ever need to find a CTMH Consultant in the future, I have quite a few fabulous people that I consider my family, that I can refer you to.  Just contact me and I will hook you up!

Oops, I see that I am getting ahead of myself because I still have more projects to share with you this month!  And I'm talking like this is my last post as a Consultant.  lol

Happy creating!  :)

A Valentine for My Valentine...

A day late, but I wanted to share with you the Valentine I made for Lee.

It isn't overly masculine, but the sentiment still works.  ;)

I masked off an area where I wanted my sentiment, with a piece of paper, then used a hearts stencil/mask to sponge two shades of grey ink over top, allowing the lighter shade to fade out towards the edges.

The sentiment I used is from the What Matters Most stamp set and I stamped it in black ink.

And lastly, I cut a small heart with our smallest Hearts Thin Cuts die out of Bashful Glitter paper and then sponged Pomegranate ink onto it to give it an ombre effect and popped it up with 3D foam tape.

Happy creating!  :)

XOXO

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Here is a sweet card I made using the True Love stamp set.

And what a sweet stamp set it is!!!

Operation Smile is a non-profit organization that provides surgeries to repair cleft lips and palates in children.

The cost per surgery is $240 USD, so every little bit helps!

This is what the complete set looks like...

Available until July 31st!

With Love Valentine Card

I paired the Adore You (January SOTM) stamp set with the recently retired Season of Magic stamp to make this card.

The With Love banner was cut out of white daisy cardstock, then sponged with Raspberry ink, and I added a little extra sponging to give the ends a little darker shade for added depth.  Then stamped the sentiment in black ink.

Lastly, I added some shimmer to the heart with a Shimmer Brush.

Happy creating!  :)

i ♥ you

This is the card I'm giving to Lee today for Valentine's Day.

Masculine cards are hard to keep masculine.

I always want to add more...  lol

So I held back and left it as is.

Today I will share with you how I made the woodgrain paper.

I inked up a woodgrain embossing folder with Saddle ink by rubbing the ink pad directly onto the inside top part of the folder.

Then I quickly placed a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of Cashmere cardstock into the folder and ran it through my Cuttlebug.

The ink is pushed into the grooves of the cardstock, giving it the two tones.
Awesome.

And here's a card I made especially for you!

Ok, who am I kidding?  It's for me.  lol
{ I luv The Rock! }

Happy Valentine's Day & happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  White Daisy, Cashmere CS
Stamp:  Dotted Love mini stamp
Inks:  Black, Saddle, Versamark
Markers:  Lagoon, Ruby, Whisper
Embellishment:  ProPlayer Assortment
Other:  Cricut Artiste Cartridge, 3D foam tape, Woodgrain embossing folder (SU)

Valentine's Gift Box (or 3x3 Card Box)

Having all boys in the house, including the dog, doesn't really give me ample opportunities to create with pink and be all girly all the time.

So I made this just for the fun of it, as I always have a need to be creating something!  lol

I made this over a month ago, and I just spent too much time looking but I can't find the instructions that I followed to create this box... not in my scrapping room or online.  But while searching, I came across this one called a Fun Folds Envelope Punch Board Card Box by Kelly Gettelfinger which is very similar, but Kelly's instructions will hold 4"x4" cards and envelopes, so it's larger than the one I made.

Here's my basic instructions, using an envelope punch board:

  • Begin with a piece of cardstock cut to 6 1/2" x 6 1/2"
  • Use the enevelope punch board and punch and score at 4 3/4" and 3 3/4" on all 4 sides
  • Cut the tabs (you can watch Kelly's video to see where to cut if you are unsure)

I made a simple 9 1/4" belly band to keep the box lid closed.

The finished size of my box is approximately 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" x 3/4".
It will fit 3x3 cards and envelopes.
I checked to make sure.  ;)

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Cotton Candy, Ruby, White Daisy CS
Stamps:  Holiday Tags, Whooo's Your Valentine - retired
Inks:  Whisper, Cotton Candy
Punches:  2" scallop circle - retired, 1 3/4" circle (EK), Heart To Heart (SU)
Other:  3D foam tape, Envelope punch board (WRMK/SU)

Minion Valentine

Okay, so I've seen so many Minion cards and I just had to jump on that bandwagon and give one a try myself!

I thought I'd make a Valentine's card for Cole, and this is what I came up with.

OMG, isn't he just the cutest!!!

I love those little Minions.

The Minion started out as a 4 1/2" x 3 1/4" piece of Honey cardstock.
I used a circular container to draw the rounded shape on each corner and hand-cut them out with my scissors.

I hand-cut the overalls out of Indian Corn Blue cardstock.
Then I stamped the pattern onto his overalls in Outdoor Denim ink, using an old retired SU background stamp called Canvas.
The larger pocket I just hand-cut and then sponged the outer edges with Outdoor Denim ink.
I drew the smaller pockets, shoulder straps, and pocket pattern on with my black journal pen.
The shoulder strap buttons were made with the smallest circles from the SU Owl punch.

For the mouth, I rough cut a shape out of Black cardstock, then used the Scallop Border punch and White Daisy cardstock to create the teeth, cutting each tooth off the row and gluing them onto the mouth shape.
I trimmed off the excess overhang from the teeth and lightly sponged a little Outdoor Denim ink onto the outer edges.

For his goggles, I used some silvery cardstock from my stash and punched a 1" circle and then using a 1 1/4" circle, I went over top of the first circle and did my best to line them up, and punched.
I made two of those and lightly sponged some Chocolate ink onto the outer edges.
The black strips for the goggles are 1/2" wide, and I cut two of those at 1" long.

For the eyes, I punched a 1 1/4" circle out of White Daisy cardstock.
Then I punched a 3/4" circle out of Chocolate cardstock.
And lastly, I punched a 1/4" circle out of Black cardstock.
I sponged a little Chocolate ink onto the outer edges of the brown circles.
And then added a little white dot to the pupils using a White Chalk Marker.

I hand-cut the glove and the hair out of Black cardstock.

And for the heart I simply used a punch and used some 3D foam tape to pop it up a little.

I hope you like him as much as I do... banana!

Happy creating!  :)

Valentine 3"x3" Post-it Note Cover {instructions}

Okay, so as promised, here's my instructions for the cute Valentine 3"x3" Post-it Note cover that I shared yesterday.

First, start with a piece of cardstock cut to 3 1/4" x 12".

Then score your cardstock at 3 7/8", 4 1/4", 6 1/4", and 8 1/8".

The only tricky part is making sure that you glue the correct section together.

If you look closely at the photo below, you can see where the bottom half of the top piece is glued together.

If you need more visuals, you can check out the instructions by Susan Itell, where she explains in photos how to make these for 1 1/2" x 2" sized Post-it Notes.

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  White Daisy, Black, Cotton Candy CS
Stamps:  Whooo's Your Valentine - retired
Inks:  Whisper, Black, Ruby, Cotton Candy
Embellishments:  Googlie Eyes (dollar store)
Punch:  1/4" circle (EK)
Other:  3D foam tape, Micro-tip scissors, 3x3 Post-it Notes (Post-it)

♥ 3 Fun & Cute 3D Valentine's Projects ♥

Here's some adorable 3D Valentine's projects.

I'm still waiting to get my hands on some of the new CTMH products for Spring/Summer, so I pulled out an old stamp set (Whooo's Your Valentine) and retired paper (Sweetheart).

I got it, so why not use it, right?

Up first, I will show you this cute 3x3 Post-it Note cover.

Super cute, hey?  And so easy.

I found the instructions by Susan Itell via Pinterest to create a cover to hold 1 1/2" x 2" Post-its, but I only had 3x3 size Post-its on hand, so I adjusted all the measurements and created my own instructions.

I will post my instructions soon (maybe tomorrow, time permitting).... so check back.  ;)

Next up is this cute little treat holder.

I just got a Envelope Punch Board, made by We R Memory Keepers (also sold by SU), and wanted to play with it.

So I found some great tutorials on Pinterest.

This one is called a Sewing Style Box by Sam Pootles.

And lastly, here's a nice sized gift bag.

This one is also by Sam Pootles and she calls it a Folded Gift Bag.

I hope I inspired you today!

Happy creating!  :)
