Season To Celebrate

I've been a very busy girl, creating lots o' stuff to submit to the CTMH Make It From Your Heart contest open to Consultants.

I promise that I will have a ton of stuff in September (or possibly October, depending on when they are announced) to share with you once the winners have been announced, so please hang in there with me.  ;)

In the meantime, here's a card I considered entering, but I ended up creating something else that I thought was a little better for that specific category.

So now I'm free to share this one with you...

~~~~~~~
For my card, I used a pattern from Wishes - On the Edge, and I paired up B&Ts from the Believe Level 2 paper pack and the upcoming October Stamp of the Month called Holiday Magic.
The snowflake at the top is embossed with Silver embossing powder and I added a Clear and Blue Sparkles to the tree and the snowflakes.
I also used the new Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the large circle.
Winning Bite Sized Page...
I know my bloging has been a little lacking lately.
I've been a busy girl, tho.
What have I been up to?  Well, I've been busy creating submissions to the Make It From Your Heart Contest which is open to CTMH Consultants until the end of the month, and last weekend was our local annual Fall Fair that I was also busy creating projects for.
I won't be able to share anything yet that I am entering into the CTMH MIFYH contest, but I can share my winning bite sized page from the Fall Fair with you.
For all of my projects I ended up using photos that I had printed up quite a while ago and they were just sitting here at home, so some of the photos you may see in my upcoming projects may look familiar... ; )
On this 9x9 page, I used a beautiful new paper pack called Dreamin'.  Perfect for those 'fall' photos.  This picture of Cole was taken when he was 6.  He's now 11, so he's about double in size... lol   Look at that cute little face!  :)
I used my new Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the tree and the title.
Oh, and I was so excited to put my winnings from the Fall Fair (cash and gift cards for the local scrapbooking store), plus cash from my birthday on Sunday, towards a Cricut Expressions machine.  Now I will be able to cut out things larger than 5 1/2" which my orignial little Cricut could only do.  Happy, happy!  :)
I'm still trying to create more projects for the MIFYH Contest, so I may not have anything to share for a little while again.  But maybe I will....  just not sure yet.
But until next time, happy creating!  :)
What Lee & I were up to last weekend...
Building storage!  We are slowly picking away at the numerous tasks that need to be done in our new home.  We recently bought some supplies to create and build our own master bedroom walk-in closet organization from scratch.  It's so nice to have our clothes out of boxes!
I know I haven't shown any updated photos of our home since we moved in and I've had quite a few requests over the last while.  I'm happy to say that we finally got our high-speed internet up and running today, so I will be able to add pictures much more easily here on my blog.  My plan on sharing some more house photos is on my to-do list.  ;)
But for now, here's a few more pictures of the closet process...
If you look at the top of the above picture, you'll see I have room enough to hold my most often used luggage.  Which is great when packing... stored right in the closet... awesome.
(Lee has his own side of the closet.)
This may look a little anal, which yes, I guess it is.  But I'm glad I took the time to color sort my clothes.  It's so much easier when I'm looking for a specific shirt!
It's still a work in progress.  I still have plans to add some shoe racks, and also some shelving for linens at the far end.  All in due time...
Cole has been away for the past 5 weeks with his Aunt, Uncle and 2 cousins in Hawaii, and they are getting back today.  Can't wait to see him!
Coffee Goodness {Mojo #203}
I created this card using Debbie Carriere's sketch for Mojo Monday sketch #203.
Debbie is a fellow CTMH Consultant, so I had to play along.  ;)
I used a Verve set that finally arrived a little while ago from my very first (and only) Mojo win from a couple of months ago.  With the Canadian postal strike, it took forever to arrive.  For my win, I picked a coffee set called Delightful & Delicious.  I paired it up with another new B&T, this one from the Elemental paper pack.
I also had some coffee beans in my kitchen cupboard that were just screaming to be used on my card.  I adhered those with Liquid Glass.
Overall, I really like the sketch and how my card turned out.
~~~~~~~

I have been thinking a lot about how I've been spending my scrappy time.  I've decided to participate in less challenges and blog hops.  I recently joined a blog hop called Paper Trail that I will continue to do, but the rest are ones that I can join in whenever I want, so I may do those every once in a while.  Instead I am going to focus on getting more of my scrapbooking done -- I have a lot of photos sitting in boxes!  And I will be focusing more on creating for workshops, too.

I'll still be posting everything I create, as I always do.  I do have some cards done that I need to post, so as time allows, I'll be doing that over the next while.  We're hoping to have our high-speed internet up and running by tomorrow.... fingers crossed.... which will make a huge difference in my time spent on uploading, editing and posting my work.  :)

For now, happy creating!  :)

Sonoma Congratulations {Mojo #202}

I was happily able to find some time today to play along with the Mojo Monday challenge sketch #202 for this week.

I used paper pack that's new in the Fall/Winter CTMH Idea Book called Sonoma on my card.  I love the colors in this pack!   How can you not make something beautiful with it?!

I added a little glitter to the flower and the pop-dotted paisley cut-outs for a little extra prettiness.  ;)

To make the purple flower and twill ribbon, I just sprayed them with a mixture of water and Gypsy re-inker in a mister (they were both originally a cream color).

Another detail I added is the little dots that I created with Liquid Pearls.

That's pretty much it.  Hope you like it.

Happy creating!  :)

Let's Celebrate with Roxie {H2H Kid's Birthday Challenge}

Now that it's August, CTMH has a new Idea Book!
And my new product order finally arrived, so of course I had to play.

This week over at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog, this week's challenge is to create something for a kid's birthday.

My card is made using B&Ts from the Roxie paper pack, just one of the 8 new paper packs now available.

I know quite a few little girls (friend's daughters) that will be turning 11 this year, and I thought this paper would work perfectly for a "tween" birthday card.

I used a few different new stamp sets on my card... "let's celebrate" and the numbers are from a set called Little Reminder (January SOTM), the lined paper image is from the Typeset Workshop On the Go kit, and "the best time of the year" is from a set called Pair-A-Phrase which will be available in an upcoming National Stamping Month special where you can get this double set for free with a $82 minimum order.  Pair-A-Phrase has two stamps sets in one package; it's full of fun images and sentiments.

 Since this is a girlie card, I felt it needed a touch of sparkle, so I added some onto the punched heart by clear embossing it with Prisma Glitter.

Happy creating!  :)
