Embossed & Dry Embossed Halloween Card

Are you looking at the background paper and wondering, "how'd she do that"? 

I watched a how-to on Mel Stamps' blog you can take a look at here.

She's soooo creative!

I've seen the same process done by others lately, too.

I'll walk ya through the how-to process.  ;)

• first you dry emboss your B&T paper or Cardstock ( I ran my B&T through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder)
• then you ink up your brayer with Versamark ink and run it over the raised parts of your dry embossed piece
• next you sprinkle clear embossing powder over it, tap off the excess, and then heat set the embossing powder
• take a sponge and ink (I used Black ink), and rub the ink into the paper, and then take a kleenex or paper towel and lightly rub off the ink that doesn't stick to the clear embossed areas

Life Is Good

I love the simple design of this card.

It's base is a 4 1/4" square card, and with the circle piece on top, it's height is 5 1/2".

That means it fits into an A2 sized envelope.

I used the Two-Step Backgrounds stamp set to stamp the patterned onto Colonial White cardstock with Chocolate and Creme Brulee inks.

The wreath and sentiment is from Remarkable Wreath.

And the leaves are from Jubilation (past June SOTM).

A Christmas Card not entered...

This was a card I made during my stint of creativeness in August for the Make It From Your Heart contest, but I ended up not submitting it.  Right now I can't recall exactly why, but it must have been for a category I chose something else to submit for.

I used the October Stamp of the Month set called Holiday Magic and the plaid B&T is from Believe.

I stamped the snowflakes onto Kraft cardstock with White Daisy pigment ink, and then sponged the same ink onto the edges of both pieces of Kraft cardstock.

I also added a few Bitty Sparkles to the larger snowflake centers on the stocking.

Winning MIFYH Contest Entry #4

Well, we're finally at the end... this is my final winning project from the Make It From Your Heart contest.  And it's the one I'm most proud of...

I turned a CTMH blank card box into a trinket box that looks like a book on the outside. 

{yes, I'm patting myself on the back... lol}

It' looks so cool in real life.

I am in love with this book/box!

This 3D project won for the September Stamp Of The Month - Limited Edition category, using the Typeset Level 2 paper pack.

First, I sponged Chocolate ink over the edges of the entire box.

To make the cardstock look like "pages", all I did was score 1/8" lines onto pieces of Bamboo cardstock and then I lightly sponged Desert Sand ink over the lines.

I wrapped a piece of Juniper B&T around the spine of the book, using some 3D foam tape underneath to give it a more rounded look.

I also scored double lines closer to the top and bottom of the Juniper B&T "spine", and then inked those score lines in the same manner as the "pages".

Winning MIFYH Contest Entry #3

This is my winning project #3 for the Make It From Your Heart contest.

It won for the Cricut project using Mischief Level 2 Paper pack category.

The cute little bag is cut using the new Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  I also used it to cut the spikey flower, scallop circle closure, circle, and the numbers.  And the "banners" on the chocolates were also cut with it.  :)

It's pretty darn cute, I have to say.  Love how it turned out.

The cat was embosseed with Black embossing powder, and I added a little Clear Sparkle to it's neck/collar.

Using a Christmas themed paper pack called Believe, once again I wanted to show how you can take the themed papers and use them in a different way.

I made this card for one of my BFFs boy, who has his 8th birthday coming up on December 26th.

It's October, that means there's a new Stamp of the Month!

First off, I have to ask, where did September go?

Or summer for that matter?

We didn't have a summer this year, so please ignore my whining...  ;)

I know some of you got a blast of a heat wave... not us.

When it wasn't raining, it was flooding, when it wasn't flooding, it was raining... and cold.

I believe we finally had one day of summer in September, but for those of you who were stuck inside working that day, you might have missed it...  ;)

Anyways, enough with the whining... summer is over and it's time to enjoy the wind before the snow flies in just a few short weeks... lol

Now onto the reason for my post... the new SOTM for October, called S1110 Holiday Magic.

Look at all those terrific images!

On Friday, I'm planning on posting a cute card using one of the stockings from this set.
