Working on Christmas...

Yes, it may seem early, but life gets so busy not just for me but for everyone I know.

So I started working on a Christmas card workshop yesterday and now just need to type up the instructions (totally the boring part).

Anyways, this card is not part of the workshop, but I do like how it turned out.

Happy creating!  :)

Stamps:  Keyboard Uppercase Alphabet, Life Is Wonderful - July SOTM, Be Jolly - Hostess set, Tiny Typewriter Alphabet - heart -retired

Typed Note Card

This card uses the upcoming April Stamp of the Month set, Typed Note.

I paired it with some of the new Christmas themed Yuletide Carol papers, and added a little Canary yellow.

I stamped the typewriter paper a second time and trimmed it out with my scissors.

Then I rolled the edges a little to give it a slight curve, and adhered it with 3D foam tape at the top and glued it at the bottom, just to give it a little dimension.

We just got home last night from another summer trip.

This time my main reason was to go see this little peanut... my Great Nephew.

What a sweet baby!  ♥

And then we headed further south to visit friends we haven't seen in 5 years.

Good trip.

Good to be home in my own bed, too.  ;)

Happy creating!  :)

Pumpkins

I love the What A Hoot! August stamp of the month set.

Here's the little pumpkin from that set.

For the base, I inked up my Damask embossing folder with Black ink and placed a piece of Whisper cardstock onto it, then ran it through my new Big Shot.

{ Did I tell you all that I won big at a stamping event when I was visiting my sister in Calgary in July?  She signed us up to attend Allison Okamitsu's Bingo night event at her home - luv Allison by the way!, and I won the biggest prize at the end of the night that included the new SU In-Color cardstock and markers and all of the Hostess Rewards stamp sets AND also included the money collected from everyone who bought additional bingo cards at $5 each, so I also won $145 in cash to put towards Stampin' Up! product from their new catalog.  I quickly ordered a new Big Shot -- as I had sold the one I had won from the Stampin Royalty blog years ago, and had regretted selling it ever since!  I left Allison's in shock that night... ;)  }

I stamped the pumpkins in Versamark and Black ink onto White Daisy cardstock, and heat embossed Clear Detail embossing powder over top.

I pulled out my old markers to color the pumpkins, but they seemed so bare even though they were cute on their own, but I thought I'd water-paint the sky with my waterbrush and inks and color the ground with my markers.  I also added a little shading around the pumpkins on the ground with my old markers.

Love how it turned out.  ♥

Happy creating!  :)

Inspired Birthday

I fell in love with this card by Erica Cerwin.

I had to recreate it with new CTMH products, because it is just so darn cute!

I used a polka dot stencil/overlay over a piece of Thistle cardstock, and sponged Thistle ink over top to create the background.

The Glacier and Canary patterned papers are from the Paper Fundamentals Whimsy pack.

And the adorable stamp set I used for the candy dish is a Hostess Rewards set called Sweet As Sugar.

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  White Daisy, Thistle, Paper Fundamentals Glacier and Canary CS
Stamps:  Sweet As Sugar - Hostess Rewards, Banner Wishes
Inks:  Black, Thistle, Canary, Glacier, Whisper
Other:  Polka Dot Stencil/Overlay (SU), Micro-tip scissors, 3D foam tape, Sponge Dauber, Oval Punch (SU), 5/16" circle punch (EK)

It's the Little Things...

It's the Little Things is an upcoming stamp of the month set for November.

So while this post is a little early, I wanted to share it now because it is quite summery with all the flowers in the set.

These two cards show a nice combination of all five of our new CTMH colors:
Glacier, Thistle, Pixie, Flaxen and Canary.

I used a 1" wide post-it to cover a strip of the card base, and randomly stamped the flowers and leaves in various colors.

Then I simply peeled the post-it strip off, and stamped the sentiment with Slate ink.

I added a few Bitty Sparkles to add a little bling.

And that was it.  Seriously easy and fast.

I basically repeated the same for this little 3x3 sized card.

Although I see I didn't add any Bitty Sparkles.  Easy enough to fix.  lol

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH):
Paper:  White Daisy CS
Stamps:  It's the Little Things - Nov SOTM
Inks:  Glacier, Thistle, Pixie, Flaxen, Canary, Slate

I'm an Awesome Aunt!

Ok, ok, I mean Great Aunt, but I just like the sound of Awesome Aunt better!

My niece had a baby boy yesterday, which is the first grandchild of all of my siblings, so this is kinda a big deal.  ;)    And I can't believe my sister is a Grandma!!!

I just wish my mom were still here for this.  {sniff sniff}

Man, that would have been so great!

Anyways, I got inky today to make a card for the birthday boy.

I can't wait to smell, I mean hold the little guy.

Happy creating!  :)

Birthday Owl

Ok, so seriously, this Stamp of the Month set is cute.

I inked it up the day it arrived...

I paired the What A Hoot!  stamp set with the new Chalk It Up papers, and colored the owl with a combination of our new ShinHan Touch Twin alcohol markers and some of our old ones.  (funny how the darker blue is showing in the pic, as it is a teal color in real life)

I will definitely be playing with this set more!

Happy creating!  :)
