My Scraproom... a work in progress...

I keep getting requests every once in a while from people wanting to see my scrapping space.

It's still a work in progress and not everything has a home yet, nor is it really photo ready or perfectly tidy, but I'll share it as it is...

These first 2 pictures are looking from the same end of the room, just from 2 different angles.

 

 

So far, I have purchased 7 Ikea Expidit shelves for some storage.

They fit perfectly for the wall height of these short walls.

I have my scrapbooking albums stored on this end, with some of this and that in the middle, and on the other end it has all of my Stampin' Up stuff I've purchased over the years.  On the top is a great place to hold my recent cards and 3D projects on the one end, and on the other end I have clear boxes containing a bunch of cards I have for sale.

On this end wall, I have more Expidit shelving, with one that holds my Cricut and Cuttlebug and some other tools, and the other which has ribbon, photos, more tools and adhesive.

This area is close to where I like to sit to scrapbook, so these shelves hold my B&Ts, cardstock, layout books, embellishment cases, re-inkers, ect.

On top I have baskets that hold my punches, more embellishments (the ones I use most of the time), paper flowers, and upcoming card classes.

This nook is still awaiting proper storage solutions.  It's pretty much the only tall wall I have, but is still limited in height due to the window.

I'm looking for some paper storage of some sort to go in there.

For now though, this is where I do my heat embossing.  And on the right is a storage unit with drawers that hold my CTMH stamp sets.  On top of those drawers is where I photograph all of my projects to share with you here on my blog.

Also, if you notice in the upper right corner of the photo, I finally found a chandelier at Ikea.  Super cute and priced just right.  ;)

Here's all the tables for my classes.  You can see where I like to sit when I'm creating....

Here's another corner that isn't done yet.  My plans are to have a sitting area with a little coffee table in the corner right where all the boxes are.

This is that same corner, but from a different angle.  The door is the entry from the garage, so when I have classes, people can just come right on up.

This area beside the entryway from the garage will eventually be a little kitchenette.

The plans are for upper and lower cabinets.  There's a little mini fridge in there.

It will be so nice to eventually be able to have coffee and snacks right there... and a sink, too.

Right now though, all that stuff on the floor is my to-go pile.  I will likely have a "garage" sale this Spring or Summer to help find these things a new home.

And lastly, this is the doorway that heads into the main part of the house.

The kitchen is pretty much finished now.

We just have to get the backsplash tiled and it will be complete.

It's so not finished.

I have boxes around the entire perimeter walls, waiting for storage solutions to either be bought or built. 

It will come over time. 

So as soon as I have it done, I will share.  ;)

I'm currently working on gel staining the 2 entry doors and 2 sets of garden doors.

So many projects, so little time...

What Lee & I were up to last weekend...

Building storage!  We are slowly picking away at the numerous tasks that need to be done in our new home.  We recently bought some supplies to create and build our own master bedroom walk-in closet organization from scratch.  It's so nice to have our clothes out of boxes!

I know I haven't shown any updated photos of our home since we moved in and I've had quite a few requests over the last while.  I'm happy to say that we finally got our high-speed internet up and running today, so I will be able to add pictures much more easily here on my blog.  My plan on sharing some more house photos is on my to-do list.  ;)

But for now, here's a few more pictures of the closet process...

If you look at the top of the above picture, you'll see I have room enough to hold my most often used luggage.  Which is great when packing... stored right in the closet... awesome.

This may look a little anal, which yes, I guess it is.  But I'm glad I took the time to color sort my clothes.  It's so much easier when I'm looking for a specific shirt!

It's still a work in progress.  I still have plans to add some shoe racks, and also some shelving for linens at the far end.  All in due time...

Cole has been away for the past 5 weeks with his Aunt, Uncle and 2 cousins in Hawaii, and they are getting back today.  Can't wait to see him!

I know I've been attempting to post some older projects, but thought I'd interupt that for a moment and share some current photos of the progress of our new home.

I'm going through withdrawls... might just have to set up a table in all the construction dust.

Love this large solid-core door in my bonus room.  (It'll help keep the chatter-noise contained on this end of the house when I'm holding classes...)

I also need to do a trip to Edmonton to make a serious shopping visit to Ikea for some major storage solutions...  those 39" tall sidewalls are a little awkward to find shelving for.  Would love to just order them right now, but the shipping cost would be outrageous for all that I need to outfit this space!

Lee's been busy most evenings picking away at whatever he can.  There's so many things I love about this house.

I've finally reached the point of just wanting to be in there already.  I've been good until now... LOL 

It's just so close to being done.  Gotta have running water before we can move in though, right???

On my list of wants...

This is the chandelier I want to get for my scrapbooking room, to hang above the main work tables. 

Not exactly what I'm looking for, as I didn't really want any colour on it, I just wanted white or a creamy white, but definitley feminine and around 5-6 lights on it.

For some reason these are really hard to find, and this one is pretty, even tho the pink is not "matchy" with my blue scheme.  I'm ok with that.

But if by chance you should come across one in your travels, please let this girl know...

Latest pictures of the new house...

There's lots of changes since the last time I posted pictures of the progress.

• I've finished painting.  Whew!  That was a huge job and I'm so happy to be done.  {I'll just have to go in and fix the dings and marks on the walls after all the trades are done.}
• The hardwood maple floors have been installed in the living room, hallway and kitchen, and stained and oiled.  There was enough wood floor planks left over to do our master bedroom walk-in closet, too.
• The window trim has been installed throughout the house.
• The rails have been put up around the loft/hallway area in the upper floor.
• The firplace rock has been completed and the mantle built.  The area around the mantle will be grouted today and then the rock will be able to be sealed right away.
• The laminate flooring has been installed in Cole's bedroom and will be completed in my scrapbooking room today.
• Lino was installed in the laundry room and mudroom.
• The kitchen install has begun.  Lee will be picking up the rest of our appliances this weekend from cold storage at his sister's place.

Next week the carpet and the rest of the linoleum will be installed.  We will just have the tiling in the main entryway into the main floor bathroom, and the tiling in the master bathroom to do for flooring - and the tiling in the master shower and around the tub will need to get done, too. 

Once the flooring is done, they can start installing all the doors, and then the door trim and baseboards.  As well as some trim work around the beams, where the gyprock doesn't quite meet the beams perfectly and there are gaps. 

And the stairs need to be finished with hardwood and rails. 

The plumbing/ductwork is still a work in progress, too.  I think he should be done soon and then we can start up the geothermal heating system.  Right now the house is being heated by two little heaters.

Still lots to do... but on to the photos. 

I re-painted Cole's room in a warmer, kinda muddy grey called Graceful Grey - Behr.  I like it much better.

Plus his laminate flooring he requested is installed now.  {He didn't want carpet, I think so he can build lego's and stuff easier on the floor.}

It's hard to get a picture of "Cole's" little bathroom, but I painted the walls in the same Toasted Marshmallow colour as the majority of the house.

These pictures were taken last night before the sun set.

The kitchen cabinets are going in... these pictures will take you around the room.

Here's what the fireplace looks like from the loft.

This is my scrapbooking room.  They started installing the same laminate as what's in Cole's bedroom and will have it completed today.  The cool thing about this laminate is that it has a built-in rubber backing, so they don't have to lay anything under it before installing it.  It's a nice, thick 15.3 mm laminate in a hand-scraped style that we found at Costco.

Looking down to the end on the left side in the picture below... that's where some upper and lower cabinets will eventually be installed, with a little sink and mini-fridge.  And the doorway beyond that is the main entrance for people to come through from the garage below for my future workshops/classes.

And one last picture is of Lee, getting the lighting ready.  He's up on a 10' ladder in the living room, just to give you a feeling of height in this room.  {He's 6'3".}
