February Paper Trail Blog Hop... For Always

Welcome to the Paper Trail Blog Hop for February!

You may have arrived from Karen's blog, but this is a circular hop, so it doesn't matter where you begin.

This month we have a brand new 2013 CTMH Spring/Summer Idea Book with some fabulous new paper packs contained within its pages.

For our hop this month, we chose to feature the beautiful For Always paper packet.

So here goes...

First up I have a cute 2 page Valentine layout.

(inspiration for the layout design comes from a Scrapbook Generation layout)

The pennants and hearts were cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.
Using my sewing machine, I sewed the hearts down their centers to adhere them onto the Lagoon pennants, and lifted the sides of each for some added depth.

I cut the title using the Cricut Artiste Cartridge.

I glued the title onto Lagoon cardstock, then trimmed around it with my micro-tip scissors.

If you look closely, you will see that I took my Ruby, Cotton Candy and Crystal Blue (Lagoon is not yet available) markers and coloured in some of the patterns on the one strip of B&T paper.

I made the paper rosette by cutting a 1 3/4" x 12" strip of Lagoon cardstock, then used my Fiskars Upper Crest edge punch along one side.
I then scored the cardstock at every 1/4", and then folded it back and forth along the score lines, making an accordion fold, adhering the ends together to create a circle.
Then I just grabbed a piece of scrap cardstock smaller than the circle and added quite a bit of glue to it, grabbed my folded circle piece, and centered it over the scrap piece and forced the center down, holding it in place while the glue dried a little.

I then took the large Ruby heart that I cut with the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge, and glued that ove the center.  The cardstock pieces on both sides of the rosette hold it together.
I added the smaller Cotton Candy heart with a piece of 3D foam tape.

 Onto my monogram card...

Again, I added some colour to my B&T paper with a Hollyhock marker.

The top piece, I stamped a piece of Hollyhock cardstock with an image from the In the Background stamp set, inked with Hollyhock ink.  I added the silver dots with a Silver Metallic marker.

I used a W-Monogram stamp for the center image (elevated with 3D foam tape), and I used a retired alphabet stamp set called Chocolate Alphabet Small for the initials of my first and middle names.

I centered the monogram and initials onto a shape cut at 1 3/4" using the Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.

And up last is my ruffled card.

I used a MFT die to cut the scalloped ruffles, using one of each of the B&T patterns from the For Always paper packet.

The sentiment is from a new stamp set called For A Friend.
I stamped it in White Daisy Pigment ink and sprinkled white embossing powder over top, then heat set it.

This is what the papers in the For Always paper packet look like:

All Black, White Diasy and Slate, but the other non-neutral cardstock colours included in the pack are Lagoon, Ruby, and Honey.

Here's a look at the cover artwork of the new Spring/Summer Idea Book:

And of course with a new month, that means a new Stamp of the Month: Home Sweet Home
Just $5 with a minimum $50 order. (also available for full retail at $17.95)

Well, that's it for me.
