Bazinga!

My son gets a kick out of The Big Bang Theory, as do I.

So when I saw this card by Taheerah, I knew I had to make one too.

Here's my version of her card...

Cole's birthday isn't until August, so I will give it to him then as a birthday card.

He will be turning 13.)

I know he will like it.  :)

He has a red t-shirt with the same print on it, so I added the black lightning bolt to my
4" x 8 1/2" card similar to what was on the t-shirt.  For that part, I just sketched it out with a pencil onto black cardstock and hand cut it with my scissors.

Here's that tissue photo canvas I made a while back with him wearing the t-shirt.

I just want to mention that Close To My Heart is going to be retiring their E-sized stamp sets at the end of July.
I used the Posterboard Alphabet on this card.
So make sure you get any E-sized sets you need before they retire!

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed today's card.

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Holiday Red CS - retired, Honey CS, White Daisy CS, Black CS
Stamp:  Posterboard Alphabet
Other:  Circle Coluzzle - retired, Pencil, Micro-tip Scissors, Craft Knife

Thought Of You Today... (H2H Inspiration Challenge)

This week at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog, there is an inspiration challenge going on.

And this is our inspiration (below):

I took the bright summery colors from the inspriation photo and ran with them for my card.   I also decided to make it a long card (4" x 8 1/2") because of the way the inspiration photos are displayed in a long row.

I've had this Smiles stamp set that I used on my card for quite a while now, but I haven't played with it much (I think like once...), so I pulled it out to put it to some use today.  It's a very cute, whimisical set.

Until next time, happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  White Daisy, Pear, Sunny Yellow, Tulip, Ocean CS
Stamp:  Smiles
Inks:  Pear, Sunny Yellow, Tulip, Ocean, Sorbet, Black
Embellishments:  Sunny Yellow button, Crystal Blue waxy flax
Punch:  1 1/4" circle
Other:  Paper crimper (Fiskars), 3D foam tape, Paper piercer

Get Well...

Wow, life gets busy in spurts, doesn't it?  I found some time to post this card before heading off for work today.  I've mostly been busy with making cards that people have purchased and getting them in the mail once they're ready to go.  (Thanks again to all of you!)
I'm all caught up now, except I need to finish "drawing up" my newest sketch I used in the above card, so I can email it out to those receiving cards from me using this sketch.  I'm hoping I can get it done and emailed out before I head out for work.  ;)

I really like this sketch!  I love the scallop detail at the bottom, too.  So pretty.

I hope to find time to do some creating for myself soon, and I'll attempt to get caught up on some other posting I've been wanting to do to share with you.

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):

Embellishments:  Colonial White bigger brads, Colonial White crochet ribbon
Other:  Blending pen, Double Scallop border punch (MS), Piercing tool, Scor-Tape (LSS), 3D foam tape (dollar store), Tombo Mono-Multi glue (LSS)

Time to Celebrate.... with a little Blog Candy!

Well, time sure flies!  I started my blog 2 years ago this month and I just recently surpassed 150K hits.  (Well, more or less, since the counters went on strike last summer and I had to guess where I was at and restart it.)

Anyways, I just wanted to spread a little happiness and what's better than some papercrafts???  That's what it's all about, isn't it?  The papercrafts, that is.  LOL  (I seem to be the one who always gives the handmade gifts, but I know how much I would love to receive them, too.)  So how about it?... want to win some handmade cards from me?

I made these puppies yesterday.   Love how cute they turned out.  The inspiration for this set comes completely by a set made by Andrea Walford, so I can't take credit for the design.  She creates the most awesome stuff and I always wonder where she gets her ongoing inspriration from.

These cards are 4" x 8 1/2", which is a rather odd size, so I also made 4 envelopes to give away with the set.  (Envelope instructions will be at the end of this post.)

And since it's my 2 year blogaversary, I am also offering the winner of my blog candy 2 of my templates of your choice.  You know, the ones that you would normally "buy-a-card-and-get-a-template-for-free" type of templates.  (You can see my templates by clicking on Vicki's Templates under Labels on my sidebar.)

To enter, all you need to do is leave me some LOVE in the form of a comment at the bottom of this post, and I'll enter your name in the draw.  This blog candy will close at midnight Mountain Time on March 31st and I'll draw the winner on April 1st (yes, April Fools day)!

Don't forget to check back on April 1st to see if you won.  Good luck everyone!  :)
(I'll keep this post at the top of my blog until then.)

Here's the close-ups of the cards in the set:

***  For those of you who may be interested, I made the envelopes out of 81/2" x 11" 32 lb. copy paper (heavyweight).  With the shorter side at the top of my ScorPal (actually I used my Fiskars paper cutter for this), I scored it at 3" and 7 1/16", turned and scored at 1 1/8" in from each side.  Cut the side tabs at the top and bottom off from each side, leaving just the middle tabs in place.  Fold up and glue the larger bottom part of the envelope to the side tabs.  Use 1/8" ScorTape strip(s) along the very edge of the top flap(s) to be able to seal the envelope(s), leaving the protective cover on.

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Chocolate, Colonial White and Bamboo CS; Topstitch B&Ts
Stamps:  A Little Everything, Love Is In the Air
Inks:  Blush, Chocolate, Heavenly Blue
Embellishments:  Blush ricrac, Chocolate and Bamboo brads, Mini Clear Sparkles
Punches:  Corner rounder, Scallop edge (SU)
Tools:  Micro-tip scissors, Paper piercer
Adhesive:  Tombo Mono-Multi (LSS), 3D foam tape (dollar store)
