Hello!

Hello! Just popping in to let you all know I am doing fine. My life has been full of tons of appointments and trying to deal with all of these severe new allergies I've been slammed with (along with the anxiety that came with it) and trying to be very cautious to stay away from any foods/medicines that I could possibly react to. Believe me, I am pretty tired of seeing the ER room. lol

On a positive note, my Dr. was able to get me in to a new allergy clinic in Port Coquitlam for January 11th, so I am excited to get started with working with an allergist, so I don't have to continue to try to do this all on my own! (The 18 month wait list for the place I was referred to in Calgary was not something I was willing to accept!)  Anyways, I am still here and feeling pretty positive.

Although I haven't been in my scrapping room to create for about 2 months, I do have some things I created before then that I will try to find the time to share here and on my Facebook page over the next while. Thanks for hanging around.  I appreciate you. smile emoticon

Learning Curve in Progress...

Please bear with me while I learn how to use my new laptop.

My posts may be a little sparse over the next little while.

Long story short, I dropped my trusty ol' laptop on Saturday and had to either be without for three weeks and anywhere from $200-1200 to fix, or bite the bullet and buy a new laptop.

I decided to buy a new one.

The new one is a Mac, so I have a bit of a learning curve on it.

So far, so good.  lol

I just hope they can retrieve all my photos from the hard drive...  fingers crossed.

Typed Note Card

This card uses the upcoming April Stamp of the Month set, Typed Note.

I paired it with some of the new Christmas themed Yuletide Carol papers, and added a little Canary yellow.

I stamped the typewriter paper a second time and trimmed it out with my scissors.

Then I rolled the edges a little to give it a slight curve, and adhered it with 3D foam tape at the top and glued it at the bottom, just to give it a little dimension.

We just got home last night from another summer trip.

This time my main reason was to go see this little peanut... my Great Nephew.

What a sweet baby!  ♥

And then we headed further south to visit friends we haven't seen in 5 years.

Good trip.

Good to be home in my own bed, too.  ;)

Happy creating!  :)

My Creative Space...

I know I shared my scrapbooking room a few years ago, but I don't think I ever updated with any photos after the kitchen cupboards and sink was installed... so here's a complete up-to-date share (as in I just took the pics a few minutes ago).

I tidied it up a bit, but there still is a great need for some major purging...

This is the Wizard's Hangout, a place where I create and where I hold my papercrafting workshops.

It is my own private studio above our 3 car garage, with its own entrance from the garage for workshop attendees, and also from the upper floor of my home.

It is approximately 700 sq. ft. and currently I have one 5ft. table, three 6 ft. tables, and one 8 ft. table permanently set up and ready for classes.

A friend of mine bought me 6 black leather chairs from Staples for a house warming gift after we built the house and moved in... how lucky am I?!!!  They are so comfy and completely awesome.

Anyways, here's pics of my room...

Mostly just CTMH paper and CTMH cardstock storage, with various punches on top.

The white container holds my CTMH buttons, twine, and embroidery floss.

This is a bit of a hodge podge of stuff, but mostly I have my CTMH pattern books, embellishments and re-inkers, glitter, Coluzzle, pieces of white cardstock scraps, and some miscellaneous tools.

On top there are ribbons and paper flowers, plus a bunch of stuff that I need to go through.

This is my photo printer area... on top I have my wireless printer and printer papers in various sizes.

In the cubbies I have old photos waiting to be scrapbooked, including school photos of my kids that I need to scrap too.  The rest is mostly tools, and extra adhesive, and some patterns/instructions I have printed out over the years that I keep in page protectors all in zipped binders.

On the next shelf over, I have my Cuttlebug and my Cricut Expression.  My mats, dies, cartridges are all stored below, along with some of my tote bags.

And the all important tv in the corner, where I can watch old VHS, and DVD movies while I craft away so I don't feel lonely.  It isn't hooked up to satellite, so I just keep a bunch of chick-flicks (and some action adventure) stored in here.  lol

These shelves hold a bunch of my old SU stamps and papers, with my handmade cards sorted into bins on top.

Down further I have my mini albums and regular scrapbooking albums stored in the cubbies.  And on top I have 3 piles of layouts I've created: ones completely done and ready to be placed into albums, ones that are bare of photos, and the other pile is specifically from our trip to Disney World last summer.

This is my little "kitchen" area.  No cooking facilities, but a mini fridge and a single sink for cleaning up paintbrushes, ect.  It is perfect for workshops.

Right now I have a ton of stuff sitting there that needs to go.  I recently went through all my almost 9 years of cards I made and pulled anything I don't want and put them into "freebie" bins.  Whatever my friends/workshop attendees don't want, (the rest) will be donated or tossed.

This area is my sewing area and the entrance up through the garage.

Behind the fan is my basket of slippers for the wintertime.

I thought I'd throw in a picture of where I take photos of my cards and 3D items.
I've been taking photos of my layouts in a different area of my home lately.

The drawers below hold my older CTMH stamps, most of them retired but ones that I am not yet ready to part with.

I tend to keep all my current/new stamp sets on a little table beside my main workstation.

This is my personal workstation.

You can see the blue Ikea cart where I currently have my CTMH embellishments, clear blocks, ect.

Beside that at the end of the table is a mini table where I have my current CTMH stamps.

The little basket is holding my Picture My Life cards and My Crush Assortments along with some embellishments.

On the far right I have a tower that holds my CTMH ribbons, rub ons, DE chipboard shapes and alphas, brads, ect, with my main tool bag on top.

I keep my CTMH inks and markers in a turning storage tower, my current papers in a cropper hopper, sponges in a jar, and adhesives right in front of me.  My most used tools and pens are in the mug off to the side beside my paper cutter.

Always working on something new.....  ;)

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed a peek at my creative space.

Happy creating!  :)

Clearance Stamps

I just added 40 more stamps to my Clearance Stamps page.

Check out what I have for sale...  :)

Hello... what's new?

Well, it has been a while since I last posted, so I thought I should pop in and say hello.

This past week was a busy one.  Family came up for my Dad's memorial service which we held on Friday.  Thankfully we had beautiful weather for the entire long weekend.  It was so nice to be able to sit outside and visit in the sunshine.  The ice finally came off the lake only a week ago, and the leaves are now budding on the trees.

Lee and I managed to get our vegetable garden planted yesterday.  I ♥ long weekends!

I also went with my girlfriends on Sunday out for supper and then to the Backstreet Boys concert in Dawson Creek.  How fun was that?!!!  Completely awesome.

In fact, I will leave you with some videos I took at the concert with my phone... so the quality is not great, but still... lol

Spring Break in Photos

You may (or may not) have noticed that I took a break from my blog.

And that's because we took off to the southern US for Spring Break to visit with the in-laws.

Our first day there, we slept in and didn't do a whole lot other than take in the local "tent city" where you can shop from local people.

Then in the evening we went to a cousins' place for a potluck birthday/farewell dinner.
This time of year, all the "snowbirds" are packing up and heading back up north for the summer.

Cole took this photo of us after supper on one of our walks in the foothills area.

The next day we went with Lee's dad to the Castle Dome Silver Mines Museum.

This is the Castle Dome, which the mines are named after.

On our drive back from the museum, we stopped in at the Yuma Proving Grounds.

There are a lot of tanks (and other stuff) on display.

We had our IDs checked and were allowed to go into the Base and had lunch at their bowling alley.

Later that evening we went to another farewell party.  This one was hosted by the Gardner's from Fort St. John, the same city we live just outside of.  They do a big BBQ, drinks, and karaoke for probably around 100 or so people each year.  (We went last year, too.)  I didn't take my camera with me tho, so no pics to share.

The next day we drove into California and then across the border into Mexico for a little shopping and lunch.

Cole drinking a virgin strawberry daiquiri.

On the weekend, we mostly just did some shopping at the local malls/stores.

On Monday, the in-laws had to drive some friends to the Palm Springs airport, which is about a 3 hr drive each way, so we took Cole to the Water Park.

Sad to say it is only open on the weekend so we missed it.  (It won't open during the weekdays for a while - I think when school is out for summer.)

But there was also Mini Golf and Go Carts there, so it wasn't a complete loss.  ;)

After the mini golf and go carts, we drove to the old downtown area.

Cole posed for this picture outside of Lute's Casino Restaurant.

On our last day, I helped out by doing some spring cleaning at the in-laws.

Lee helped his dad with moving patio furniture and other stuff that needs to be packed up and stored away.

They were getting ready to head north, too.

After cleaning, we took Cole to a nearby outdoor swimming pool and soaked up the last of the hot sun before catching an early flight home the next day.

It's been such a long, cold and snowy winter, but it's always good to be back home.

:)

Boxing Day Tobogganing Photos

We decided to do a little Boxing Day toboganning right in our front yard.

I love living at the lake!

It is so beautiful out here year-round.
