10th non-winning MIFYH contest entry

This is the 10th (and last) of my non-winners from the Make It From Your Heart contest.

I entered this My Creations Board Book into the "Cricut featuring Dreamin' paper pack" category.

All of the page layouts came from either Magic or Reflections, and I just adjusted them from a 12x12 size to work with the size needed for my board book, which is approximately 6x6.

~~~~~~~
Well, I hope you enjoyed taking a look at all my non-winning entries.
I've certainly enjoyed sharing them all with you.  ;)
On Monday I will begin sharing all of my winning entries with you.
Tomorrow (well acutally tonight), I'll be participating in the October Paper Trail Blog Hop, so I'll have something to share with you on the weekend.  :)
9th non-winning MIFYH contest entry
Here's another 3D item that didn't win in the Make It From Your Heart contest.
I entered this one into the "Cricut featuring Roxie paper pack" category.
Inspiration for my 3 tier cake came from this photo of a real cake, that I saved from Pintrest earlier this summer.
Each piece of B&T and cardstock was cut from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, except for the strips of cardstock that I wrapped into circles for each tier, and the three leaves that I just cut by hand.
This paper cake stands 5 3/4" tall by 3 3/4" wide.
~~~~~~~

Be sure to come back, as I have one last non-winning project to share with you tomorrow.  :)

8th non-winning MIFYH contest entry

Now we're on to my non-winning 3D items I made for the Make It From Your Heart contest...

Here's a back-to-school teacher gift made from a brown paper lunch bag.

I entered this project into the "November SOTM - Cherish the Day featuring Typeset Level 2 paper pack" category.

{please click on the photo for a better look...}

I've seen many a lunch bag transformed into pockets, and had to make one myself.  ;)

I random stamped almost every stamp (of the larger ones) in the set, including quite a few of the numbers, onto the Juniper B&T.

Since this project didn't win, I have already attacked the chocolate bar.  No point in it going to waste, KWIM?.  I was planning on having Cole give it to his teacher, but for some reason this year he has two teachers.  So I certainly can't give this to just one of them, that wouldn't be fair.  So as far as I'm concerned, the chocolate was fair game!  lol

The ruler was a 12" wooden ruler that I found at Staples, and I had Lee cut it down for me.

~~~~~~~
Please come back tomorrow for another non-winning 3D item!
Happy creating!  :)
7th non-winning MIFYH contest entry
I made this layout for the "Level 3 Layout featuring the Roxie paper pack" category for the Make It From Your Heart contest.
The photos on the layout are of my friend.  Funny story is that we were at a weekend scrapbooking retreat a year ago and she was throwing these photos of her (as well as some others) into the trash can.  I guess they were duplicates that she felt she didn't need.  I quickly grabbed them out of the garbage can and then scolded her... lol
Anyways, I think I will give this layout to her... if she wants it and promises to not throw it in the trash...  Bwah-ha-ha!  :D
Starting tomorrow, I'll be sharing my non-winning 3D items.
Happy creating!  :)
Supplies used (all CTMH):
Paper:  Roxie B&Ts; Colonial White, Desert Sand, Black CS
Ink:  Chocolate
6th non-winning MIFYH contest entry
So last week I shared all of my non-winning cards that I entered into the Make It From Your Heart contest.
Now I'm moving onto Layouts...
Here's one of my layouts: this one I entered into the Elemental Level 3 Layout category.
{click on the picture to get a closer look...}
These pictures were taken when we took Cole to Oahu, Hawaii for Christmas in 2008.
That large sea turtle swam up onto the shore.
It's hard to tell in the photo as to how big it was, but we were surprised at it's size -- it was huge!
I did some random stamping with a few different stamp sets:  Extreme Happiness, Fun Times, Circle Around and Enjoy Life.
Tomorrow I'll have another layout to share, then I'll be on to my 3D items.
Happy creating!  :)
Supplies used (all CTMH):
Paper:  Elemental B&T; Colonial White, Cocoa, Sorbet CS
5th non-winning MIFYH contest entry
Okay, so we're now half-way through my non-winners, with this being #5.
I entered this 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" card into the Cricut using Elemental Level 2 paper pack category.
I.love.this.card
Everything on my card was cut using the new Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge (except for the scallop trim piece that I used our corner rounder on).
Using a transparency sheet, I cut a large doily/snowflake shape from the cartridge and layed it over top of the Chocolate cardstock piece.  Then I sponged Chocolate ink over top of it, giving it a really cool patterned look.  My fave part of the card.  ;)
It just adds so much... texture.
The rest of the card is pretty straight forward.
~~~~~~~

I'll continue with my 6th non-winner on Monday.

That way I can either take a weekend break if needed, or possibly post some things that I've created in the mean time that have nothing to do with the MIFYH contest.  ;)

Happy creating!  :)

Paper:  Elemental B&T; Colonial White, Kraft, Chocolate, Tulip CS

4th non-winning MIFYH contest entry

Today I'm sharing #4 of my non-winners from the Make It From Your Heart contest.

This 3D 6x6 Anniversary card was made for the Cards using the Dreamin' Level 2 paper pack category.

This card began with the adorable little door hanger that has the pocket out front, that I cut using the new Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  Then I added the flowers (from the same cartridge).  It just grew from there...

Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE that Dk. Chocolate striped grosgrain ribbon!
I want it in so many more colors!!!  Although I'm finding that Chocolate is pretty neutral and it works with so many colors, that I guess it doesn't really matter.  ;)

Please come back tomorrow for my next non-winner!

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH):
Paper:  Dreamin' B&Ts; Colonial White, Chocolate, Bamboo, Goldrush, Honey CS
Stamps:  Art Philosophy Tags, Typeset WOTG set
Inks:  Pacifica, Chocolate
Embellishments:  Wooden Designer button, Mocha Opaque adhesive gem, Dk. Chocolate striped grosgrain, Colonial White embroidery floss

3rd non-winning MIFYH contest entry

Here's #3 of my non-winning entries I submitted to the Make It From Your Heart contest.
This one was for the October SOTM category.

I like to use non-traditional papers in less obvious ways to show how versatile they are, so I made this Christmas card with B&Ts from the Sonoma paper pack.

When you look at Sonoma, it doesn't really scream Christmas... lol
but look how pretty it is!

The snowflakes are stamped in Smokey Plum, then I restamped over them with Versamark and added a mixture of Prisma Glitter and Clear Detail embossing powder to give them a little dazzle.

Then I added purple sparkles to the center of each one.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for my next non-winner!

2nd non-winning MIFYH contest entry

This is my 2nd non-winning Make It From Your Heart contest entry.

For this card, I played with the Wonderland B&Ts, and paired them up with the Remarkable Wreath and Christmas Love stamp sets.

I took my craft knife and trimmed around the little bird above the sentiment, and tucked a piece of 3D foam tape behind it to pop it up.

Then I added my mixture of Prisma Glitter and clear embossing powder to the bird.

And I stamped the white "berries" on the wreath with White Daisy pigment ink and sprinkled over it with the same Prisma Glitter/clear embossing powder mixture, too.

I'll be back tomorrow with another non-winner!

Well this is the last of my non-winning entries.  I really like this card.

I used a waterbush with ink and his boots I used watercolor pencils on.

I received a call from CTMH Corp. office yesterday telling me that I won for 2 of my entries for the Make It From Your Heart Contest for Consultants before each new Idea Book release.  Yay!

So now I can show you my non-winning entries.  Instead of showing them all 3 of them in one shot, I'll post them one at a time over the next little while.
My 2 winning entries will have to wait until October for me to be able to share them with you here.

This one is a 3 1/2" x 8" double tag card, with one of the tags designed to hold a gift card.  You can easily attach a gift card with a glue dot.

So come back soon, as I'll be posting my second non-winning entry...
