Veranda Card Workshop Door Prize...

Most of you may know by now that I like to give away door prizes at my workshops.  So with my 8 card workshop coming up at the end of the month, I wanted to create a pretty box to hold the cards and envelopes.  This is it... kinda spoils the surprise for the ladies who are coming who regularly check out my blog, but at the same time, maybe it will help to get my last two spots filled!  ;)

Christmas Gift Tags and Box

I had to make one of these after seeing LeeAnn's project HERE along with instructions on how to make your own. I just got the Just for the Holidays stamp set by CTMH on Monday, which was perfect for this project to make the tags with. Although you can't see it in my pictures, I made 16 tags, using most of the stamps in the 17 piece set at least once. I also punched a 1 1/2" circle out of White Daisy CS, and stamped the TO: and FROM: in Chocolate ink on each one and adhered them to the back of each of the tags.

This project will likely go into my Doorprize pile, too. :)

Tea for Two...

I was on Nichole Heady's blog and saw this project. I knew I had to give it a try, especially since she has the template sitting right there, teasing, taunting, and calling to me... lol I did make some adjustments to mine, though. I guess tea bags must be a little bigger here in Canada or something, because it was just a little too small to fit the ones I had at home. So I remade it, making it a little bigger, using a 12" x 5" piece of cardstock and adjusting my scoring lines. That worked! Yay! This is just so cute! This one's going in my Doorprize pile too. That pile is getting rather big!!!

I used my Nestabilites Labels 1 dies for the cut out and the "Tea for Two" die cut. For the teabag pockets, I used the Top Notes dies from SU, and cut it in half.

File Folder style card holder and card(s)

Inspiration comes from everywhere, doesn't it??? I saw a file folder card box while blurfing this morning and wanted to make one. I'll share with all of you the cutting instructions that I came up with to make mine. Also, for the card, I was inspired by one made by Karla Kroese that I saw on her blog. Thanks for the inspiration, Karla!

How I made my File Folder card holder:

2 pieces CS at 6 1/2" x 7 1/2" (front and back pieces)
2 pieces CS at 4 1/2" x 4", scored at every 1/2" along the 4 1/2" side and folded accordian style (side pieces)
1 piece CS at 7 1/2" x 3 1/2", scored at 1" and 2 1/2" along long side (bottom piece)

First you need to adhere the bottom to the front and back pieces, then adhere the side accordian folded pieces to the front and back. Hopefully that makes sense. I used an oval punch to cut the handles.

I still need to make more cards to fill it up! This set will also be going into my Doorprize pile... :)

Hot Cocoa packet holder

I saw a cute cocoa packet holder made out of envelopes on Dawn Griffith's blog. She has a video tutorial on how she made her's here.

I must be using a different size of cocoa packet, because her envelope idea wasn't going to fit my cocoa packet very well, so I came up with a simple similar holder using cardstock.

How to make my version:
CS 9" x 5 1/2", scored along the 9" side at 5", and the sides each at 3/4"
Use a bone folder to make the folds crisp, and cut off the 5" sides (tabs), leaving the 4" side tabs intact. Fold the pocket up at the 5" mark and glue the side flaps to the back. Corner round the top corners.
Finished size: 5" x 4"

These would make a cute little stocking stuffer, door-prize, thank-you, teacher gift, craft sale item.... or fill with a packet of Chicken Noodle Soup for a Get Well Soon idea.

Just HAD to do another LIST, this one's for Christmas...

I'm having fun with these today. This is my second version (with a 3rd in progress)... fun and quick to make! I'm going to put this one in my Club Workshop Door Prize pile, too.

For the Christmas stocking, I just free-hand cut it out and glued it onto White Daisy cardstock, trimming it out with a bit of a border.

The "Honey Do List"

I'm home sick today with the stomach flu. :(

While killing time in between bouts of nausea, I was blurfing and I saw a really cute Honey Do List on Lori Craig's blog. So after I started feeling a little better, I made a version of my own using (mostly) CTMH products.

I have a little pile of lined notepads that I purchased at Staples quite awhile ago. They were 8x5" in size, and I had them cut them down the middle for a minimal charge, making them 8 x 2 1/2". So anytime I can find a use for something I already have, it's great. :)

They're very quick to make, so I think I'll be making some more just for the heck of it...

Playing house... (a sneaky peek)

Hey all! I received my new Fall/Winter Idea Books and SOTMs that will be coming available this Fall/Winter. I just had to play... this is created using the SOTM for November, called Around the Block. It's so whimsical and cute. I could even see it used for spooky Halloween layouts, or cover the roof with Liquid Applique and a little glitter for snow and use it for Winter ideas... fun!

I have a Workshop Club going right now and it's mostly made up of people from the occasional workshops I've held in the past. I got (them) in the habit of giving away a door prize, so now they all look forward to the draw. I totally forgot about it last time, so I owe one of them a gifty. I used to give away duplicate stamp sets I had on hand, but I'm pretty much out of those right now, so they will have to settle for some hand-made gifties. This project is going in the door-prize gifty pile... lol.

I got the idea for this note holder from Rebecca from this blog post. You should go check out her awesome work. I really love her most recent post of a gift for the Teacher! Cute!!!

I had the notepads I used from quite a while ago, with plans to make something with them that never materialized. I don't even remember what the project was exactly, but it was something along these lines with a holder for them. Rebecca's post inspired me to doing something with them... well, at least one of them. They were 8" x 5" lined notepads that I purchased at Staples and had them cut them in half for me for a small fee, giving me a bunch of notepads measuring 8" x 2.5".

I grabbed the Boom-Di-Ada papers for this project mostly because they were sitting out from the other day and thought the colorful papers would be fun to use. I was getting a little worried that it was going to be way too busy, but in the end I think it all works. ;)
