Well, my husband came home for lunch and thankfully that reminded me to look at the clock and I realized that it was time to do my drawing for the winner... So I had Lee draw the name from the "Prima Flowers" container, and the winner is...

Baby Boy Cover for CTMH 3 ring chipboard binder

I can only laugh at myself... I thought I had ordered the new CTMH 3 ring chipboard binder (5 1/2" x 8 1/2") from the Summer Idea Book, but yesterday when I finally got my way-so-very-delayed-been-waiting-like-forever-for-it personal order I had placed, I realized that I hadn't even ordered it. LOL (((blush)))

I made this for the front cover of the little ablum in anticipation of having the binder to attach it to and well, I guess it has to wait a little bit longer. I wanted to work on the inside pages, too, so I guess I have to see if I can find out the dimensions for the inside. If I keep screwing up, I will have everything completed and it should make for a quick project to put together when it does arrive, though! ;)

I got my inspiration for this from a card in the May/June 2009 issue of Paper Crafts, where she used felt and stitched square pieces of patterned papers onto it. Adorable! It gives it a real quilted feel. In case you can't read the words on the MyStickease, it says: A baby is teddy bears, rattles, and pins, meals at midnight, giggles and grins. It's easy to read in person, but didn't photograph very well.

A good friend of mine is expecting in August and she recently found out that she's having a boy. (NO PEEKING - YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!! lol) So when I do get this project done, I'm planning on giving this to her as a gift for her baby shower.

Oh, so much (I want) to do and never enough time! I swear that's my biggest complaint in life! :)

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Snips & Snails Level 2 and MyStickease (retired)
White Daisy Ricrac
Sweet Leaf, Heavenly Blue and Buttercup buttons
Magnolia White Acrylic Paint
Create-A-Shade Paint
Heavenly Blue re-inker
Paint brush
DE heart from Dazzling Die-Cuts
Chipboard Wings (Tim Holz)
White felt (Walmart)
Sewing machine (Kenmore)
Pinking shears (other)

Be You card (Mojo sketch #84)

I made this card for this week's sketch on the
Mojo Monday blog. I'm loving the look of felt on my recent project, so I used a scrap piece on this card.

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Be Yourself stamp set
Stylin' B&T (retired)
Black, White Daisy and Hollyhock CS
Black and Hollyhock inks
Black mini brads
Black striped ribbon
White felt (Walmart)
Pinking shears (other)
Nestabilities scallop circle die (Spellbinders)
1 3/4" circle punch (EK Success)
Stitching with white thread (sewing machine)
Pop-dots (other)

Hey, I just realized it's been a year! Time for some Blog Candy!

I started my blog one year ago today on April 8th. So of course I will have to give away some blog candy to celebrate my BLOGAVERSARY! Let's see what I can scramble up for this... hmmm... how about this?

Items include (all CTMH):

~ The "not-yet-available-to-customers" CTMH 2009 Summer Idea Book (goes live on May 1st)
~ Key To My Heart E-sized stamp set
~ Dazzling Die-Cuts Autumn Harvest (Autumn Terracotta, Barn Red, New England Ivy, Outdoor Denim, Pansy Purple, Sunflower and chipboard shapes)
~Organdy Ribbon Rounds Autumn Harvest (Autumn Terracotta, Barn Red, New England Ivy, Outdoor Denim, Pansy Purple, Sunflower)
~ Metal Charms
~ Clear Shapes

(approx. $70 CAN retail value)

~ I'll also add a couple of cards I've made (or haven't even made yet), but they'll be a surprise for the winner.

HOW TO PLAY:

• All you have to do is create an anniversary card or birthday card (since it’s kind of like my blog's 1st birthday) in any shape, any size and any color combo, preferrably using Close To My Heart products, but I'm open to you using whatever you have if you don't have anything CTMH. (Really, you must get some CTMH, though... it's awesome! LOL)
• I would ask that you upload your card using Mister Linky below (please just link to your card, and not your whole blog). Don't worry if you don't have a blog. You can go to splitcoaststampers.com to upload your picture and link it that way. Just put WIZARDCANDY in your card post title for a code to play along.
• I'll choose a random winner in two weeks. Cut off time is 12 noon (MST) on Wednesday, April 22nd. *** I have to go out of town, so I will be changing the closing date to a week later on Wednesday, April 29th. *** • So make sure you check back to see if you won, because I'll need your contact info to be able to mail your goodies out.
• ***Open to residents of Canada and the United States.

**Another way to upload you file for you newbies, is to upload your picture from your computer onto Photobucket.com (it's free), then copy and past the URL (found at the top of your page, ie: http://photobucket.com/yourcardhere .... ) into Mister Linky.

UPDATE: Can you believe it's snowing and blowing like crazy here today? So we'll be heading out tomorrow instead. But since I changed the draw date already, I'll keep the date for next Wednesday (April 29th).

I'll be using Random.org to pick the number, if I can figure out how to delete the double posts. And to be fair to everyone, if I can't figure out how to delete the duplicates, I'll just write the numbers/names (excluding the duplicates) onto paper and have my son draw one winner from a bowl. Thanks for playing and for those who haven't yet, you still have time! :D

Thanks for playing... Mr. Linky is now closed...

Birthday card for Dad from Cole (Unscripted Sketches #02)

Well I'm trying 2 new things today... a new sketch site and a new technique of printing a black and white photo onto Heavenly Blue textured CS. It turned out okay and I think my husband will like it. It's very different from anything I've done before and it's nice to go out of my box once in a while. :) I used a picture of my son from his birthday last August to wish his Dad a happy birthday... do you think it works okay?

You can find the sketch I used at Unscripted Sketches.

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Happy Birthday stamp set (retired, I think)
Classmate Alphabet stamp set
Black, White Daisy and textured Heavenly Blue CS
Heavenly Blue B&T (retired)
Black ink
1 3/4" circle punch (EK Success)
2" circle punch (Fiskars)
Polka dot ribbon (Walmart)
Pop-dots (other)
Make-up sponge (other)

Criss-Cross Baby Boy card... or is it a Boy Birthday card???

I figure I could use this card for either a little boy's birthday or for a baby boy card. I made this one 4x4 so I could still keep it small, but big enough to still accommodate the lion stamp image easily. I picked up the printed double sided paper at a scrapbooking store while in Oahu this past January. I came accross it in my stash of non-CTMH stuff and thought it would work well with the lion and monkey, so I had to play...

What I used:
Jungle Palms B&T (Reminisce)
Boy Clear Stamp set (Sandylion)
Sentiment - Say It In Style stamp set (CTMH)
Cocoa, Desert Sand and Colonial White CS
Brown Staz-On (through CTMH)
2" cirlce punch (Fiskars)
YR24 Pale Sepia marker (Copic)
Copper mini brads (CTMH)
Tab punch (SU)
Pop-dots (other)

Two more challenges combined into one...

These challenges seem to really help me get the mojo going... I love sketches and then you add colours in there... how much more easier can it get? The colours this week for Color Chef Challenge #3 are White Daisy, Sunflower, Watermelon and Black. And here's where you can find both the sketch and the colour challenges:

Kelly's Color Chef Challenge #3
Mary's So Sketchy Sunday sketch #SSS10

Criss-cross, applesauce...

I saw pictures of a 3x3 card swap this morning and in the mix there was a little criss-cross card that fellow CTMH Consultant Lisa Aquino made. I was inspired to make some of these little cuties myself. I pulled out my Free Spirit level 2 pack and MyStickease and a few punches and voila, 3 cute little cards in less than an hour. Gotta love that!

6x6 Misted Butterfly Wings thank you card...

Yesterday I saw a beautiful card on Yvette West's blog using this stamp with watercolor crayons, then spritzed with water. I don't have watercolor crayons, but wanted to try this just using ink. I have done this technique with markers before, and I found out that using direct to ink pad gives a lot more solid image. Whereas Yvette's is very soft, more subtle and so pretty, so mine looks very different.

I took my Creme Brulee ink pad and inked my stamp up really well, then using the rock-n-roll technique I added the Tulip then Juniper inks. I then just took my spritzer filled with water and misted the stamp really well before stamping the image onto the CS. Misting the ink on the stamp is supposed to give it a watercolor effect.

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Butterfly Wings stamp set
Kanji Phrases stamp set
Perfect Day B&T
Cocoa, Tulip and White Daisy CS
Cocoa, Tulip, Creme Brulee and Juniper inks
Paper piercer
Mister (Ranger)
Scallop edge punch (SU)

A Whole Whack of Stuff to Post Today!

I've been kinda lackadaisical in my posting lately. I need to get some of this stuff posted before it gets too overwhelming. So here's a bunch of stuff to peruse!
(just scroll down for all of today's posts...)

Cards made with Random Stamped Cardstock

The thing I love about Random Stamping is that the possibilities are endless and no two pages are ever the same. Kinda cool when you think about it, that they are all origial pieces of artwork.

So I random stamped with my new stamp set that comes with the Tickled Pink scrapbooking kit that you can either purchase or get for free with a $75 CAN stamp order with CTMH until May 31st. It's a beautiful stamp set, I love it.

Then I made a couple of cards with my RSed CS. I still have a big piece left over to make more cards with....

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Originals - Balance It Out
Tickled Pink stamp set
Intrinsic Backgrounds stamp set
Kanji Phrases stamp set
White Daisy, Spring Iris and Sorbet CS
Spring Iris, Lilac Mist, Sweet Leaf, Creme Brulee, Sorbet, Bamboo and Black inks
White Daisy Mini Medley flower brads
Scallop Edge punch (SU)

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Originals - Overview
Tickled Pink stamp set
Intrinsic Backgrounds stamp set
Follow Your Dreams stamp set
White Daisy, Lilac Mist and Sorbet CS
Spring Iris, Lilac Mist, Sweet Leaf, Creme Brulee, Sorbet, Bamboo and Black inks
Sorbet striped ribbon
Scallop Edge punch (SU)
Pop-dots

This is my RSed piece of 12x12" CS before I cut into it.

Greater Vancouver Zoo trip layouts

I started this album quite awhile ago using the Cherish cutting instructions to make 24 pages (12 - 2 page layouts). I have most of the layouts sitting here in an album with photos added from our trip to the zoo, but no embellishments, titles or journaling on them and I pulled them out to work on them. I finished one of the layouts today and made a single page for the first page in the album. For this single page, I used a sketch for the front page that I found on Jamie Harder's blog.

I cut the words out of Colonial White CS with my Cricut and for the word ZOO, I stamped the leaves from Nature Walk on the letters, sponged Chocolate ink around the edges, then clear embossed them to seal in the ink so it shouldn't ever fade. I then matted them in Colonial White CS.

On the tag for the title, I'm going to add some ribbon and I'm waiting for my order of new stuff, with the new It's A Zoo stamp set, to come in so I can add a stamped giraffe and the words, "it's a ZOO around here" to the blank squares.

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Expedition B&T
Expedition MyStickease
Nature's Walk stamp set
Today's Date stamp set
Olive, Colonial White, Chocolate and Autumn Terracotta CS
Olive, Autumn Terracotta, Bamboo and Chocolate inks
Chocolate rub-ons
Autumn Terracotta ribbon (retired)
Corner rounder
Foundry bookplate
Clear embossing powder
Scallop corner punch (other)
White mini brads
Journal pen
Cricut: Base Camp and Opposites Attract cartridges

Tickled Pink birthday card...

I saw fellow CTMH Consultant Jean Johnson's card and had to make one because I loved it so much! I just changed the front and used Stylin' B&T (retired) for the color palette. I finally opened my White Daisy Mini Medleys, too. I'm such a hoarder! LOL I made a couple of these cards and I'm going to mail one to my sister for her upcoming birthday. Shhh... don't tell her.

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Tickled Pink stamp set
Be Yourself stamp set
Happy Birthday stamp set
Stylin' B&T (retired)
Black, White Daisy and Hollyhock CS
Black and Blush inks
Hollyhock ricrac
White Daisy Mini Medleys (crochet flower and flower brad)
Blush brad
Nestabilities scallop circle die (Spellbinders)
pop-dots (other)

6x6 Page Protector Card Holder with Birthday Card for my friend...

Here's a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card and a 6x6 holder, made out of a 6x6 page protector, that I made and gave to my friend for her birthday. She turned the big-4-0h last month. I got the idea for the holder from a fellow Canadian CTMH Consultant, Sandy Jackson.

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
That's Amore B&Ts
Aspiration stamp set
Yummy stamp set(SU)
Best Yet stamp set (SU)
Top Notes die (SU)
Chocolate and Colonial White CS
Chocolate, Tulip and Blush inks
Colonial White ricrac
Chocolate bigger brad
6x6 clear page protector
1/2" and 3/4" circle punches (EK Success)
velcro dot (other)
pink buttons (other)
flowers (Prima)
pop-dots (other)

And while I had my supplies out, I made another card, this one 4 1/4 x 5 1/2". I also used a Nestabilities die to cut and emboss the shape on the front.

Another day, another card... (...and don't forget the Blog Candy!)

A couple of weeks ago I was tidying up my scrappin' room and I came across a scrap piece of Aspen B&T and thought it would work as an outer space background instead of snowflakes. I've had this card in my head since then and was going to make the moon without texture until this morning when I saw a card on Amy Sheffer's blog where she did a card with a moon and she had used the cuttlebug embossing folder to give it more dimension. So I took that idea and ran with it, finally getting my card out of my head and onto paper... Although it's hard to see in the picture, I pop-dotted the spaceship for more dimension.

What I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Reach for the Stars stamp set
Stardust B&T
Aspen B&T
Topiary, White Daisy, Cranberry and Grey Flannel CS
Black, Honey, Orange and Cranberry inks
Blending pen
Cuttlebug embossing folder (Provo Craft)
Make-up sponge (other
Pop-dots (other)

And again, I just want to make sure everyone knows about my blog candy... it's my one year Blogaversary and I'm celebrating. Scroll down to see the candy and how to play for a chance to win... :D

{Hello} card.... (sketch challenge SSS09)

I decided to go ahead a do another sketch challenge today. This one is by Mary Vogel and it's posted on her blog here.

Using her sketch, this is the card I made. I wanted the bird to face the opposite direction, so I flipped the stamp and stamped it on the reverse side (the side you would normally stick to the block). Gotta love the CTMH stamps! LOL And then I just drew the legs onto the white CS. The bird's body is pop-dotted and so is the diamond shape he's mounted on.

What I used (all CTMH):
Bird Basics stamp set
Intrinsic Backgrounds stamp set
A Huge Thanks stamp set (Consultant set)
Black, Breeze, Creme Brulee and White Daisy CS
Black, Breeze, Ocean and Goldrush inks
Creme Brulee marker
Black/white ribbon
White mini brad
Black journaling pen
Make-up Sponge (other)
Pop-dots (other)

So I combined this week's color challenge again with this week's Mojo Monday sketch #82 and this is my card.
