You deserve to have a Great Day!

Isn't that little guy just the sweetest???  He's one of 4 different hedgehog images in the July Stamp of the Month set called Happy Forever, which has a total of 9 stamps including sentiments.  I know it's a little early for a pre-view, but keep this adorable set in mind when July rolls around.

This card started out when I decided to use some bright coloured B&T for a funky flower.  (You can see my previous posts about the FUNky flowers, if you're wondering what I'm talking about....)  I was going to use the reverse side of the yellow B&T for a flower, which was Dutch Blue, but I quickly changed my mind when I thought it would be really cute as a sun instead.

Of course with the sun, I figured that the sky needed some clouds, and the new Splendor paper pack has the perfect B&Ts for this, including the green B&T for the grass.

Then I figured the sky needed a kite... and I quickly found this Happy Forever stamp to be perfect in size for my "scene" I was putting together.

I coloured my hedgehog and kite with Prisma Coloring pencils and blended my colouring with blending stumps dipped in odourless paint thinner (aka: Gamsol, odourless mineral spirits).  I stamped the image again onto the "scene", and then trimmed out my hedgehog and kite and paper pieced them.   I tweeked a little here and there, and ......Alas, a card was born!  :)

Well, I'm off to go crafting at my BFFs for the day...

Happy creating!

Vicki - thanks for the tutorial link. I'm assuming you did the grass flower the same as the eyelet one, just different punches. How much is that! Love, love your work! Keep the great embellishment ideas coming!
