Butterfly Tube Mini Album

My neice and nephew are staying with us for the month.  I found some time yesterday to do some papercrafting with my neice, who's turning 11 on the 20th.

I had saved some toilet paper tubes with this project in mind, and we created this Butterfly Tube Mini Album.  It's the first time I've made a mini with tubes, and I was surprised at how quick it all came together.  The most important part is that she really seems to like it.  :)

Hoping to find more time to create with her while she's here.

*** Edited for clarification:  I've had a few questions posted here and emailed to me about the tubes I used.  They are just empty toilet paper roll tubes.... basically just cardboard that I flattened out.  When you bind them together on one end, each tube creates its own pocket perfect for pull out pages.  I hope I've explained it well now.

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  White Daisy, Blush, Chocolate CS; Rebecca DSP (retired SU)
Stamps:  Flight of the Butterfly (might be retired - SU); Framed Moments
Inks:  Blush, Chocolate
Punches:  Butterfly (SU), Butterfly (Martha Stewart), Mini Tab (McGill), Scallop border (SU)
Embellishments:  Paper flowers (Prima), Hollyhock stitched grosgrain, Adhesive Pearl
Other items:  Bind-It-All (Zutter), 1/2" Silver coil (Zutter), Toilet Paper tubes (other), 3D foam tape

Beautiful album, Vicki. I'm guessing you've cut and covered the tubes as your pages?

LOVE your album, Vicki - but I don't understand about the tubes? I love the butterflies, and the colors!

I'm guessing that your toilet paper tubes in Canada are very different from ours in USA. Ours are made of a kraft-paper colored cardboard. What are yours made of? Because I also cannot see how you used toilet paper tubes. Then again, Vicki, you are quite inventive:)

Who would have thought something so beautiful could be made from toilet paper rolls!! So amazing! I'm guessing you just flattened the tubes (creating the pocket) and then covered each side with cardstock? Brilliant!!!

I also think the album is adorable & also am a bit confused on what you did to the tubes before binding them? Cut them? Flatten them? :)

These tube albums are so quaint. I first saw one at Tresa Black's CU where one of the ladies had made one. Needless to say, everybody had a reason to use the restrooms more often! Lol!

Super cute. Love the color combo and all the butterflies.

I've already commented, but I keep coming back to take a peek at this sweet little album, and now I'm curious... What are the dimensions of each page? Have you trimmed down the ends of the tubes at all? I don't have a binding contraption--do you have any other suggestions for securing the pages together? I was thinking maybe ribbons or small binder clips... I so want to do this with a ladies group or something!!!
