Clementine Love & Hugs #2... Deconstructed Sketch #64

I was able to play along with Deconstructed Sketch #64 this week.

And here's the sketch:

I changed it up a little from a square card to a rectangle.

On my card, I used Clementine B&Ts again, and also the same sentiment from the Words of Comfort set, same as I used on yesterday's card.

If you are wondering about how I got my bulky bow to look so "perfect", it is a faux bow.

I first took a piece of ribbon and made it into a loop, securing the ends with ScorTape.

Then I took a shorter piece of ribbon, ran a strip of ScorTape down the center lengthwise, and then folded the edges in, getting them to meet in the center of the ribbon.

I attached that to the middle of my loop of ribbon.  I like to pinch the middle of the flattened loop piece to make it look like an M.  Then when you wrap the smaller ribbon around it at the center, it gives the bow a nice pleated look.

The tails are simply two pieces of ribbon, with the ends cut off -- to cut those ends, simply fold the ribbon in half lengthwise and trim off your angle.

I pinched the ends of the tails into an M shape, too, and secured the pinched pleats with ScorTape.

I attached the tails one at a time to the back of the bow using ScorTape.

Then I just adhered the bow onto the card, over top of the flat ribbon I had already attached to my card.

A perfect bow every time.  lol

Happy creating!  :)

Beautiful card :) Thanks for sharing how you made the bow.

I saw the bow, in my mind said "HOW did she get the bow so perfect" and then read your next line..."if you are wondering..." LOL!!!
