Regionals: Operation Smile Auction - Holiday Recipes Mini Album

A while back, I had mentioned that I was asked to teach at Regionals, which I sadly had to decline due to my inability to speak in front of large groups of people.  I think it is mostly due to my shyness that I've struggled with all of my life.

Even though I declined, I was still asked if I wanted to participate in the silent Auction.
Close To My Heart is partnered with Operation Smile, which provides free surgeries to children to repair their smiles, and all the monies received from the silent auction goes directly to Operation Smile.  :)

This was something I could do, and I was honoured to be asked!

Here is my creation I donated to the Auction:

Don't ya love it?

♥  I sure do!  ♥

And the funny thing is that the gal who took it home lives in my home town.  ;)

Happy creating!  :)

Very pretty and a special heirloom piece someone will cherish for years. I am a shy speaker, too! In high school and college, during speech time, I would freeze in front of people and then my thoughts would turn to gibberish. Apparently, my first speech went like this: I froze, then looked down at my notes, and then giggled and mumbled my way through...talk about horrifying, especially since a cousin was there to witness my shame and loves to bring it up even now. I will stick to crafting. ;)

Vicki, what a beautiful, amazing project and a gift from your heart! I am blown away by the details and beauty of this - I love it enough to want to make one for myself - but I know I would never actually handle it in the kitchen for fear of getting it dirty! LOL But I will make one and give it to someone special that doesn't have my silly hang-ups! I'm good with letting things go to a better home. Sounds like you are too. HUGS!!!

LOVE it! You should sell these! I'm sorry you were unable to speak. I know that we could all learn so much from you.

Thanks so much for posting the album Vicki! I absolutely LOVE this and was bidding on it at Regionals - was very sad not to be the high bidder . . . I came back from lunch that day & it was too late to add another bid - the sheets were gone!! Now that you've posted this - think I will try to make one - -would love to make this as a gift! Beautiful work!

Lora, I picked up the kraft album at the local scrapbooking store, but I don't recall the brand, sorry. It had thick chipboard pages in it, and I think it must measure approximately 7.5"x6". I didn't have time to place a CTMH order, so I had to use another brand.

I love this and wish I had been there to bid on it.
Do you think you would consider sharing your directions? I have been wanting to make a collection of my recipes for my daughters this would be a great Christmas gift.
I always love your work and have bought many cards from you and box templates and love them all. I have not given the cards always as I love to look at them and wish I was as talented. JoAnn JodyCooks@hotmail.com

Thank You Vicki!!!! I am on your blog every single day. You are so very very talented. And I totally understand talking in front of a group, I can't do it either. I can talk in front of a small group of ladies. And what makes it worse my whole face gets beet red. UGHH!!

This looks lovely here, but was absolutely STUNNING in person. Totally pro job on this Vicki, as are all of your creations.

And, I agree with Sharli...I would be afraid to have it in the kitchen near food, way too pretty. I'm sure that would be the day the hubs forgets to put the lid on the blender! (But surely anyone who can appreciate how much work went into making this could justify spousal homicide?)

Beautiful album Vicky! Thanks for sharing all the things you did and made at Regionals. I ended up getting sick and wasn't able to attend... I'm still in a pout about it. LOL It's fun to see and hear a little bit about what went on.
