Boy, am I outta SHAPE... for the H2H Challenge!

This week over at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog, the challenge is to create a card of any shape except a rectangle.

I recently bought a tree shaped chipboard album from Michaels $1.50 bin, and used it as a template to draw the tree shape onto a piece of cardstock.  I trimmed it out and then started decorating it with the Chocolate cardstock trunk; gluing a scrap piece in place, trimming out and then sponging ink onto the edges.  Then I added layers of Mistletoe B&T, starting at the bottom and working my way up; scallop border punching the bottoms and sponging ink on all the edges.  Then I added some Mistletoe MyStickease for the sentiment and the tree topping.  First I stuck the stickers onto scrap Colonial White cardstock and trimmed them out with scissors, then adhered them in place with 3D foam tape.  Lastly, I randomly added some Tulip bigger brads.

For the card base, I took a 12x12 sheet of Colonial White cardstock and folded it in half on the diagonal, as I wasn't sure how big I need it to be, then trimmed it to the size I needed.  The base size ended up being 8" tall x 6 1/2" wide, with the finished card measuring 8 3/4" tall x 6 1/2" wide.  I adhered my tree cardfront onto the card base, creating a fun, large size card.

Happy creating!  :)

This is awesome!!! Love the mistletoe B&T as the tree with the border punch. I was thinking about creating a tree card - I'll have to re-think that - lol!
