Paper Lantern... dust off the rust!

Wha???  I know what you're thinkin'...  that I'm actually posting something crafty!  lol
Believe me, I feel the same way.  It's amazing how rusty I felt yesterday when I made this card.  No school busses were running yesterday with a winter storm warning over the area, so I stayed home with Cole.  I was able to do a little cleaning and laundry, look online for 3-4 hours for good pricing on faucets and sinks, ect, plus even get a couple of cards made.  Oh, and I even got supper cooked!  What an awesome day!  I'll share my other card I made either tomorrow or the next day.  Gotta spread it out a little, since I don't know when I'll get the chance to play again.  ;)

I love this new Paper Lantern stamp set!  It's full of really cute images.  "Celebrate" is from a must have new set of sentiments called Card Chatter - Birthday

My card is a little busy for me.  I think if I were to re-make it, I'd change out the star patterned B&T for the simple Sky blue B&T from the Fanfare Level 2 paper pack.  That would tame it down a bit.

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Fanfare B&T; White Daisy, Black, Pacifica CS
Stamps:  Paper Lantern, Card Chatter - Birthday
Inks:  Pacifica, Cranberry, Sky, Black
Embellishments:  Cranberry button, Black waxy flax
Punches:  Lg. Star (SU), Upper Crest border (Fiskars)
Other items:  Micro-tip scissors, 3D foam tape

Some more photos of the house...

Happy Valentine's day!

~~~~~~~
I took some more photos of the house yesterday morning to share with you...
Look how yum, yum, yummy the fireplace is starting to look!  The opening on the end is for stacking/storing firewood.
The media room has it's first coat of paint.  It's a nice, warm & cozy chocolatey milk colour.
I told Lee that it's either going to make me crave chocolate more so, or I'll be sick of it and won't crave it as often... we'll have to wait & see.  ;)
This is the mudroom.  I painted it a colour called Arctic Lichen.  I found the paint chip at Rona.  It's a much more vibrant, spring-green colour than it's showing in the photo.
This is the laundry side of the laundry/utility room.  It's painted a light-tan colour called Solo by Beauti-Tone at Home Hardware.  {It's looking a little peachy in the photo, but it's really not... just the lighting.}  I think it will look good with my Tango Red washer/dryer set...
{at least I think it's this model... we purchased the set last August and they're still sitting in their boxes, as well as all our other appliances}
This is the spare bedroom {aka my painting supplies room} on the main floor.  It's painted a colour called Toasted Marshmallow by Martha Stewart, a colour I'm using through the majority of the house.
I can't wait for this room to get painted, though it may be one of the last ones to get done... it's my crafty space...all 627 sq. ft. of it!  Lee measured the room up for flooring yesterday, so now I actually know how big it is.  Doin' the happy dance!  I'm going to keep the slanted ceilings white, and paint the Artesian Well colour on all the flat walls.  I'm still trying to find the perfect white or off-white chandelier to hang from the center beam {right at the most upper point of the dormer} directly over where my work tables will be set up.
Still so much more to do...  keep tuned!
~~~~~~~

I'll be announcing the winner of the $25 Giveaway for CSN Stores tomorrow.  There's still a little more time to enter.
{Open today until noon MST}
Good luck!

Photo update of the new house...

{Be sure to enter your name into my $25 give away for CSN Stores!}

~~~~~~~
Here's some pictures of the progress on our house...
This is what the living room looks like, with scaffolding everywhere.  Josh and Matt have been busy putting up all the cedar tongue and groove ceiling, and they completed that part of the job yesterday.  I believe they will be lightly sanding the beams and finishing them with a coat of varnish today.
 This is our main crew of Matt, Josh & Aiden who built this beautiful home.  {Don is missing from the picture.}
And this is the part I'm excited about... our rock guy started work on our fireplace a couple of days ago.  I'll try to post another updated picture of the progress because by the time I left there yesterday, he'd begun putting the stonework up.  And I likey!  ;)
Okay, and what has been keeping me so busy...
the painting.
Main floor bathroom
paint color:  Delicate Mist (Behr)
Master bedroom
paint colour:  Toasted Marshmallow (Martha Stewart)
{the big pile of wood sitting in there is our hardwood for the living room, kitchen, hallway & stairs}
Cole's room
paint colour:  Grandiflora (Beauti-Tone)
{he wanted his walls to be black or purple, but was willing to compromise with grey... I picked a bunch of colour swatches and this one was his choice}
Master bath
paint colour:  Delicate Mist
{colour may change due to the tiles I like}
Media room
paint colour:  Warm Nutmeg (CIL - I think)
{just trying to get the right colour... we're going to go with the lightest brown, which is the largest area painted on the left}
Scrapbooking room
paint colour:  Artesian Well (Martha Stewart)
{I can't wait to get in there to paint... but it will be awhile because all the trim for the windows and doors are getting primed and painted in there right now...}
Well that's it for photos for today -- I see I forgot to take pictures of a couple of other rooms that are done.  Gotta get back at it!
 :)
