On Friday evening, Lee, Cole and I drove into town to check on our dog who had bladder surgery earlier that day to remove a stone.
He's doing well, but the vet wanted to keep him overnight hooked up to an IV, so we took a spontaneous drive about an hour or so to the WAC Bennett Dam, just past Hudson's Hope, BC, to view the spill.
The last time they released water like this (that I know of) was back in 1996 when they had an issue with sinkholes in the dam.
We drove to view the spill back then, too.
We were all a little nervous about the sinkholes at that time, to say the least, but thankfully they were able to fix the problems. Whew...
If you are interested, you can read about the issue with the WAC Bennett Dam sinkholes that happened back in 1996-97.
On our way back home, near Hudson's Hope, we passed a quading accident.
Police on site, and first ambulance just arriving on scene.
Looked like a head injury and we didn't see a helmet...
Hoping he's doing okay.
Here's a few more pics of us and the spillway on that quick trip to the dam on Friday...
Saturday morning, Lee, Cole and Tom (Lee's friend) went out fishing.
While they were out on the lake, I had a visitor out my front window...
This guy likes to eat the bird seed off the ground and sometimes directly from the hanging bird feeder.

Wow, that's a lot of water! Fabulous photos. I love the deer. He looks well fed... must be getting a LOT of birdseed at your feeders. LOL.
Love this! Water is one powerful force, isn't it?
Cute picture of you and fam, too.
