Beautiful Birthday Card

I love this card.  It is beautiful in person, and it has a sparkle that really catches your eye.

I was going to submit it for publication, but life got busy and the deadline came and went.

But that just means that I can share it with you now instead of possibly many months later...  ;)

The card base is a 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" square, but I added the top piece, making it measure a total of 5 1/2" tall, so it becomes a standard A2 sized card and it will fit perfectly into an A2 envelope.

The shaped piece was cut using the Cricut Artiste Cartridge.

I stamped the honeycomb image from Perfect Fit - Frames 2 stamp set, by first inking it in Buttercup ink, then rolling the outer edges in Creme Brulee ink before stamping it.

The scallop circle and cake images are from the Perfect Fit - Birthday stamp set, using Slate and Black inks.

The shape is popped up with some 3D foam tape, and I finished it off with some Grey Sparkles.

I added some more sparkle by taking a strip of Silver Shimmer Trim, and used my trusty ol' pinking shears (from my sewing days of past) to cut it in half.  I used just one of the halves on the card.
It is adhesive backed, so it is very easy to adhere it to my card.

Lastly, the Slate Satin Polka-dot Ribbon, I simply ran a quick stitch down the center with my sewing machine and pulled the strings to make it gather up nicely, before attaching it with a strip of ScorTape.

The rest is pretty self-explanitory.

I hope you like it as much as I do.

I think I will send this one to my sis for her April birthday.

Happy creating!  :)
