Welcome to the Paper Trail Blog Hop for April!
You should have arrived from Amy Raimy's blog, but this is a circular hop, so it doesn't really matter where you begin. ;)
This month we are featuring the Claire Paper Packet.
And this time I created a cute 3x3 boxed card set to share with you.
The box is created from a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock (basically made from a card base).
I came across the concept from Julie Davison's blog, where she took a card (that had a decorative edge) and she scored it in a few extra places to create a neat little card holder for 3x3 cards.
So smart!
You can find Julie's "box from a card" instructions HERE.
The only change/addition I made from Julie's instructions was that I used a decorative border punch along one of the short ends of my piece of cardstock, since I used just a piece of cardstock and not a fancy card base. And then I used my scissors to trim the side tabs because they were a little too high after I used the border punch for the front part of the box.
Here's the little 3x3 cards I made:
Super fun cards, right?
And can you tell I love my job??? lol
Playing with my papers, stamps, and ink... what's not to love about that?!
And the papers in Claire really are fun to be creative with.
I guess I should also add how I made the little pinwheel on the front of my box, just in case anyone was wondering how to do it.
I took a piece of 2 3/4" x 2 3/4" piece of Outdoor Denim Claire patterned paper, and using my paper piercer, I poked a little hole in the center of it.
Then I took my ruler and going from one corner to the opposite corner, I measured 3/4" going outward from the center point and poked a hole to the left and right of the center.
Then I moved my ruler to the other corners and repeated the previous step.
Then I just took my scissors and cut a straight line from the corner points up to the little holes I just poked.
Then I just grabbed every other end and pulled them towards the center point, adhering each one as I went around in a circle.
I added a die cut flower and gem to the center, which hides where the points meet, but it would look cute done with a button in the center, too.
Here are what the papers look like in the Claire Paper Packet.
And with it being a new month, that means there is also a new Stamp of the Month available only during the month of April.
S1304 My Sunshine is just $5 with a minimum $50 order (or $17.95 without a qualifying order).
Thanks so much for the visit!
