Welcome to the Paper Trail Blog Hop for July!
You should have arrived from Mary's blog, but this is a circular hop, so it doesn't really matter where you begin. ;)
This month we are featuring the Surf's Up Paper Packet.
I created this super fun card, perfect for Dad.
It is a little late for Father's Day this year, but it will work for next year, right?
And I figure it could always be used as a birthday card, too.
Perhaps you are wondering how I made it?
I simply made my base 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" with the fold at the top.
And with the removable mustache, it measures 5 1/2" tall.
I cut the tie at 5 3/4" using the Cricut Artsite cartridge.
For each of the collar tabs, I simply cut a 2" x 1 1/2" piece of paper.
Then I took a pencil and marked the center of the 1 1/2" side (at 3/4"), then cut from the outer corner of the 2" side to the pencil mark.
And then I repeated for the opposite angle.
The shirt pocket is a 1 1/4" square.
I cut a 1/4" strip to add to the top of the pocket.
And each piece was sponged with Black ink before adhering into place, using 3D Foam Tape wherever I wanted to add dimension.
I stamped the sentiment piece from Perfect Fit - Dad with Black and Juniper pigment inks, and then sprinkled Clear Detail Embossing Powder over top and heat set.
I cut out the sentiment with a 2" circle punch.
The mustache shape was cut using the Cricut Artiste cartridge.
I stamped the mustache from Perfect Fit - Dad with Black pigment ink, embossed it, and then I glued it onto a mini craft stick.
I made a little pocket just behind the tie (actually behind the paper that the tie is attached to, but on top of the card base) for it to slide in and out of.
Super fun card!
Here are what the papers in Surf's Up look like.
And with a new month, comes a new Stamp of the Month, available for $17.95 or for just $5 with a minimum $50 order.
Sweet Life
I hope you enjoyed my card today.
I'm a little sad to let you know that this is my last hop with the Paper Trail Blog Hop.
I've just been too busy lately to find the time to do much paper crafting.
And I can't remember the last time I actually added photos to a layout, if you know what I mean.
So I had to make the difficult decision to step away from the blog hop.
For now, I am going to focus on my busy Summer ahead of me with my family (which will also include gardening, photography, landscaping), being the best daycare provider I can be, as well as trying to squeeze in as much crafty time as I can.
And I'm hoping to get my workshops up and running again sometime in the fall.
So a big thank you to all my fellow Paper Trail Blog Hoppers for allowing me to be part of their group for the past 2 years. :)
Also, I am currently away for the Close To My Heart Convention.
This year it is being held in Disney World in Orlando, and although Convention will be over by the time you are reading this, we are staying a little longer to enjoy the magic of Disney.
So I won't be sharing anything here until after I get back home.
