Halloween matchbook treats
I got the idea for these little treats from here on Carrie Gaskin's blog, so I can't take credit for the idea. She showed the sneak peek of the insides with the "eyeball" candy. I hadn't made matchbooks before, so I'm not sure on what a standard size would be. I made mine 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 square when closed.
Cardstock measurements: 2 3/4" x 6", scored at 3/4", 3 1/2" and 3 3/4"
For the bats, I tied a piece (approx. 3" long) of black grosgrain ribbon in a half knot, then used my scissors to cut the wing shape. (I'm not sure how well they will hold together without fraying, but they are kinda cute!)
Also, I found that the staple looks like a mouth...
These will make quick and easy treats for my son to hand out to his classmates for Halloween. :)
Supplies I used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted): Autumn Terracotta, Smokey Plum, Sunflower, and Black cardstock; Enchanted B&Ts; Black Grosgrain ribbon; Purple staples, 1/2" and 1 1/4" circle punches (EK Success); White gel pen (Uniball Signo); Lifesavers peppermint candies (individually wrapped); Glue dots.

These are great little gift ideas for all my "friends"...us adults like candy too.
I commented on the artwork BB, but want you to know I think they are totally cute. I doubt my son would take them to school if I made them, but I'd sure like to try. Oh yeah, what did you use for the eyes? Is it just black card stock punched?
Too cute Vicki. Very clever.
Absolutely adorable!! Love those eyes. What a cute, clever, and simple treat.
Super CUTE! LOVE those eyes and the bat!!! What a great idea. I have missed seeing your work!
Leslie, yup, that is just 1/2" circle punches for the black part of the eyes. :)
