Paper Trail Blog Hop for March... Stella

Welcome to the Paper Trail Blog Hop for March!

You should have arrived from Linda's blog, but it is a circular hop, so it doesn't really matter where you begin.

This month we are featuring the Stella paper packet.

I love these papers!

If you have been following my blog, you will likely have seen all the projects I've already created with Stella

For this month's hop, I wanted to create something that shows off some different B&T papers from the pack so you can see how versatile Stella is.

And I think I did it.  Take a look-see....

I found the 4"x4"x2" kraft box in the craft section at Walmart.

It fits a set of 3x3" cards and envelopes perfectly.

Here's more photos of the box and the 3x3" cards:

Over at the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Blog, they have a photo for inspiration this week.

And I saw a card on Pinterest that I also used for the layout design of my card.

Of course with Pinterest, it's there one second and gone the next.

So I can't find it now to give proper credit.  :(

Darn that Pinterest!  ;)

A quick share...

I've been a little busy, but I do have a card I can quickly share.

It turned out okay, not exactly as I had it in my head, but...  ;)

It looks like a picture frame to me, but it's just a card.

The idea came from this card by Linda.

Her card was so cute that I had to give it a try.

If I don't get back before the end of the month, I for sure will be participating in the Paper Trail Blog Hop for March 1st, so be sure to check back then.  I have a fab project all lined up for it that you don't want to miss!

Happy creating!  :)

Stamps:  Just a Number, Born To Ride

Combined Inspirations Card.... all stamped!

My card was inspired by the black and white combo of this card and the layout design of this card.

I absolutely love both of the cards that inspired this one.

Love how this one turned out, too.  :)

Can you believe it is all stamped?

I only used Kraft, Black, and White Daisy cardstock, no patterned papers.

All the images are from the stamp set from the Pemberley Workshop on the Go kit.

The sentiment is from Just a Number.

Pretty cool.

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  White Daisy, Black, Kraft CS
Stamps:  Pemberley WOTG set, Just a Number
Inks:  Black, Desert Sand
Punches:  Scallop border (SU), 1 1/2" Square (EK)
Other:  Micro-tip scissors, 3D foam tape

For my S-I-L

I created this card for my sister-in-law.

She loves Hawaii, and absolutely has a 'thing' for turtles, so this card will be perfect.

The sentiment reads:

Faith is knowledge within the heart...

beyond the reach of proof.

{click on the photo to get a closer look}

She's going in for surgery today to remove a cancerous tumor, though I won't share all the back-story and details here.

I wouldn't normally share something that is so personal to someone else on my blog, so I hope she understands and is okay with it.

I know I could have just posted the card and left it at that.

But I know and have faith that prayers and well wishes do help with healing.

Please keep her in your thoughts/prayers.  :)

Happy creating!  :)

Edited to add:  Her surgery went better than expected, and she's doing well.  Thanks for all of your prayers and well-wishes.  :)

A Little Valentine Gifty

This is what I gave my son, Cole, for Valentine's Day yesterday.

I do believe that he loves chocolate as much as I do!  :)

Inspiration for the design on the front of the box came from here.

The box/bag was cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.

I also used a polka dot embossing folder (Provo Craft) on it before I assembled it.

The B&T paper is from the Stella paper packet.

How I did the Kraft cardstock heart was I cut the inside/smaller heart shape at 2" using the AP cartridge.

Then I used my Giga Scallop Heart punch (Marvy Uchida) to punch the shape, centering the inside cut-out heart within the punch.

The heart is popped up with 3D foam tape.

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Stella B&T; Kraft, Colonial White CS
Stamp:  Say It In Style
Ink:  Chocolate, Black
Embellishments:  Mocha Opaques, Chocolate baker's twine
Other:  Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, Seeing Spots embossing folder (Provo Craft), Cuttlebug (Provo Craft), Clear bag (unknown source)

Valentine Treats

I made these little treat holders filled with Hershey Kisses for my Open House guests.

The idea was totally lifted from Jody Gustafson.  I just simplified mine just a tad.

I used B&T paper from the Lucy paper pack.

The treat holders are cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.

I was able to cut 4 treat holders from 1 - 12x12 sheet, by setting my cutting size at 5 1/2".

The treat holder at this size can hold 3 Hershey Kisses.  <3

I missed you... I wish you could have made it!

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH):
Paper:  Lucy and Stella B&Ts; Colonial White CS
Stamp:  Thoughtful Tidings - Feb. SOTM
Ink:  Black
Embellishments:  Clear sparkles, Color Ready Seam Binding ribbon
Other:  Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, Heart punch (Martha Stewart), 3D foam tape

Open House Make-n-Takes

Yesterday I held my Open House for the launch of the Spring/Summer 2012 Idea Book.

I thought I'd share the make-n-takes each of my guests created.

It can either be used as a card, or simply add a couple of glue dots to the back of a gift card and use this as a gift card holder, by attaching the gift card onto the pull out cardstock piece.

I can't take credit for the idea.

I've seen many varieties of these coffee cup cards, and the inspiration for my card came from this one here.

These are the directions as to how I made
my card (5 1/2" x 4 1/4"):
  • White Daisy CS Base:  4" x 9 1/2", scored at 4 3/4"
  • Stella Damask B&T:  4" x 4 3/4"
  • Lagoon CS:  4 1/2" x 2" (use paper crimper on this)
  • White Daisy CS Insert:  2 1/2" x 5 3/8"
  • White Daisy CS Lid:  3/4" x 4 1/4" (cut 2) (corner round), 1/4" x 4 1/4"
  1. With the cardstock base folded and the opening at the top, mark with a pencil 1/2" in from both sides on the bottom of the card.
  2. Keeping the opening of the card base at the top, use your paper trimmer to cut from the corner at the top to the pencil mark at the bottom.  Repeat for the other side.
  3. Open your card and run line of glue down both sides, keeping the top free of adhesive.
  4. Adhere your Stella Damask B&T piece onto the front of your card.  Use scissors to trim off the excess on both sides.
  5. Adhere your paper crimped Lagoon cardstock piece onto the front of your card.  Use scissors to trim off the excess on both sides.
  6. For the lid, glue the 1/4" x 4 1/4" White Daisy cardstock strip onto one of the corner rounded 3/4" x 4 1/4" pieces of White Daisy cardstock.
  7. Glue this onto the 2 1/2" x 5 3/8" White Daisy cardstock piece, making sure it is centered.
  8. Then glue the second corner rounded 3/4" x 4 1/4" White Daisy cardstock piece onto the backside.  This will help give the lid a little extra sturdiness.
  9. Decorate as you wish.

The sentiment I used on my card is from the February Stamp of the Month - Thoughtful Tidings.

I love this set!!!

It's only available until February 29th.

My guests also got to create this 6x3 card.

I grabbed the same design from this A Bowwow card (originally created by Kandi Gallegos-Garcia) and just adapted it for the make-n-take.

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH):

Paper:  Stella B&T; White Daisy, Lagoon CS
Stamp:  Thoughtful Tidings - Feb SOTM
Ink:  Chocolate
Embellishments:  Chocolate baker's twine, Paper flower, Clear sparkle
Other:  Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, Corner rounder, Micro-tip scissors, 3D foam tape

The Most Exciting News!

Well, it's pretty exciting to me... and of anyone who would get it, I figure sharing this news with my fellow papercrafters fits the bill.

I set out with a goal in mind this year to try to get a piece of my artwork published.

So I submitted two cards to PaperCrafts and one of them got picked up.

I'm over-the-moon excited right now, I can't even tell ya!!!

Now I just gotta get the paperwork filled out and sent off... ;)

Edited to add: It will be in Stamp It! Cards: Volume 9

Not receiving my emails???

Sorry to interrupt my normal posting with this, but...

Rosemarrie G., I've been emailing you, and I have received your email.

If you still are not receiving my emails, please check your "junk/spam email folder" to see if they are going there.

If my emails are not going into your junk folder, I would then suggest that you add my email address to your contact list/email addresses.  And then email me to let me know that you did that, so I can attempt to email your templates to you again.

Thanks, my sweet.  :)

New Card(s) for Sale....

I've created another card, available now for purchase.

{In case you're wondering, I tend to make 6 of the same card, and when those are sold out, they're gone.  Then I whip up something new and fresh to sell, to take the place of the sold out cards.}

This one is simply sweet!

I used the same A Bowwow stamp set that I used on yesterday's card, this time pairing it up with a B&T paper from the Lucy paper pack.

The clouds are from a Papertrey Ink die set.

And the fence is a Martha Stewart punch.

If you are interested in buying one of my cards, you can view the current cards I have available, and all of the detials here.

You also get one of my box templates as a bonus with the purchase of a card.  ;)

Happy creating!  :)

A Bowwow Hello

Isn't this 6x3 card cute?

It was lifted from Kandi, a fellow CTMH Consultant, who created a bunch of these cards for a swap.  I don't see her card on her blog, but I want to give her credit for this.
(Edited to add:  Kandi added her card to her blog so you can view it now.)

I love 6x3 cards.  They are such a fun size.

Kandi paper pieced her dog and collar, but I decided to color them with my Copics.

That adorable little doggie is from a new A-sized stamp (set of 5) called A Bowwow.

I love these A-sized sets and the price is just right at $6.95.

Happy creating!  :)

Supplies used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Paper:  Cruisin' B&T; White Daisy, Grey Wool, Black CS

I've rescheduled my Open House for Sunday, February 12th, from 1-4 PM.

Please RSVP if you would like to attend so I can have all my prep done beforehand.

My original post with more information can be viewed here.
